I just thought I'd let you guys know that my local track, Waukegan BMX, will be having monthly BMX swap meets/old school show and possibly OS races.

Everyone is invited to bring new school/old school bikes and parts to swap, sell, or just show off.

They are scheduled for the last Sunday of the month, except for May.

Here are the dates:

May 20th
June 24th
July 29th
August 26th
& September 30th.

Trophies will be given out for best in show voted on by the racers and spectators.

If we get enough interest, we may have a one lap race on the oldschool rigs.

The track opens at 10:30, and we'll have the show until racing is completed. Usually 'till 3:00, but I'm sure there will be time to hang afterward.

Our new T.O. is an old schooler, so he would like to see this take off. So anyone that wants to join, please feel free to do so. No cost, unless you decide to sign up and race.

A little over a week to go for our first meet of the season.( Sunday May 20th). Bring your wares, and watch some great local racing, and maybe even see some OS rides hit the track!

The more the merrier.

This Sunday is our next meet ( June 24th ). Hopefully the weather will co-operate this time. I'm not sure if I'll have room, but I will try and bring a couple bikes and some parts to sell.

My buddy just built a sidehack and he said he will race it in the OS race. If anything, come out just to see that!

Going to try to make it this time Capt. Would be nice to see some Chicagoans make it out there too.

I've been told that if I want a big turnout, to make it an EVENT.

Well, basically I just want to have an informal monthly meet where us old guys ( and some not so old) can get together and hang and not have to worry about "best in show" prizes. Just a cool atmoshere, some local racing, and a monthly date for like minded people to hang when they can't make it to the "big" shows.

I want it to be grass roots. BMX talk at a BMX track. With some BS'ing and trading on the side. Think of it as a bunch of friends getting together for a cold one. That's all.

Awesome! But, remember, it's also a "show". Bring your bikes to show off, even if you have nothing to sell/trade. The T/O is an old school guy, and so are a bunch of us older cruiser racers. Even the young guys like to see the OS stuff!

ill have my Morales rider with me, and my buddy is bringing the Motomag i built for him.

Karl, should be there around 10:30 or so. I'll have a Moose or two, my KOS, a Yamaha and I'll see if I can squeeze one more in the van. We'll see ya then.

Excellent! My van is packed to the gills with bikes. It will be great to see you again!
