2nd Annual Cruiser Show @ BSS May 6th - Austin, TX
I just got a call from Carlos at Bicycle Sport Shop. The 2nd Annual Cruiser Show is scheduled for 5/6 at Bicycle Sport Sop South on Lamar @ Barton Springs.
Flyers will be ready soon and I will post more info as it is available.
I have pictures up on my 26BMX.com website of last years turnout.
We had over 50 cruisers 24" and STRONG Showing of Vintage 26" BMX Cruisers (15-20) as well as all cruisers types in between.
There is a Strong emphasis on "Vintage" 24" & 26" BMX Cruiser Bikes!
The last was very short notice and had a outstanding turnout - this one should be even better.
There will be an area this time that can be set aside for folks that want to create there own LARGE Collection Display.
There will be GREAT Prizes again for each show class! Free Food and Beverages! Lot's of Fun!
Austin has got to be one of the Cruiser Capitals of the World!
Cheers

Oh boy, this is the one I missed last year...the big one. I can't wait for this show! Plus it's about a mile from my house so I can make a couple of trips for bikes to ride in the truck to get 'em there. Sweet!

I'll be sure to watch your JMC 24" while you run to the house for more bikes. Don't worry Kevin, I'll make sure it's safe......hee hee.

Nice to finally meet you VonMonk! Awesome NOS CW Phaze 1!!!
Good to see Chris and some of the guy's I have met at Frankenbike out at Capital City BMX Redline Cup / State Qualifier Sa****ay! Nice Display of Vintage BMX! We had 12 riders in my 36-40 CRUISER CLASS and 11 riders in the 41-45 CRUISER CLASS!!! 2 Gates of SIX then Great 8 Man Main! I just missed qualifying but it was a GREAT DAY! Good to See Everyone!
I have a 2nd Torker 26" to show this year! My Gold Torker 26" won best of something last year and Rob's (Texas Cruzer) Baby Blue Om Flyer w/Gold Pauls won Best of Show or Shiniest? So if Todd (Todds Cycle Service) will bring his T26 and Shirvo? (from Austin) New Score! will bring his we could have FOUR Torker 26" in One Place at ONE TIME!!!
And Gee, if I could get someone "trustworthy" to help hold my bikes and move them; I might take Carlos up on the personal display area rent some pads and bring a landscape trailer full of 26"ers!!! We took two trucks last year.
Heck, I might find something to beat Rob's BB OM. Maybe my 26" racer, a Fireman's RAW w/Gold, LOL!
I wanna see the JMC CRUISER too VM
I am sure that most of this will be on the front of the buildings overhang with lot's of tent's.
Live from The Cruiser Capital of the World!!!
Cheers
Cliff

It would be cool if whoever schedules this next year checked the ABA national schedule 1st. Supernats in Desoto is this weekend too.

And this would'nt suck so bad had I not finished the Torker last night. D@mnit,now I'm torn. Should I spend a bunch money and go race in Desoto or stay home, drink some beers and ride all weekend for free? I may have to flip a coin on this one.

"Beer" and "Free" sounds like a two headed coin to me Todd! Hang local and bring out those bikes, ESPESCIALLY the Torker! Did you use those red SR's for that build???

I ended up putting some MKS Graphites on there for now. Seein as how the Torker is the only vintage bike I own I'll probably just ride down there if I go. I may not even have to flip a coin,my bank account may decide for me.

The 9th Street Cinco De Mayo jam is on that same day just down the street.
Maybe there can be some riding back and forth between the two?
The jam will surely be going on into the night.
I really, really need to finally get a cruiser.
Todd, you got anything you might want to sell?
I don't even care what kind.
cruzertodd

Cinco De Mayo? 9th street? It may take a couple days to recover from this. No cruzers for sale at this point in time Greg but I'll keep my eyes peeled, there are always used 24s coming through Ozone.

Wheelie,
Might be a dumb question, is the Cinco jam going to be held at 9th or somewhere else??? And don't forget about Frankenbike which is supposed to be at Centenial park across from Fox & Hound between 4th and 5th St. Think I'm just gonna cruise from event to event on the scooter, now if I just had a trailer for the beverages!!!

Yeah, 9th Street from whenever till after dark.
I wasn't even aware of a Frankenbike thing.
Oh well, at least they're all close together.
I'm Noodles and will be on a chrome T1 with some red parts.

Well, it poured like crazy so the jumps are going to be hosed.
Still not sure what's going to happen but it will probably be put off till next weekend.
We'll see.
The storm pulled two big trees right out of the ground and snapped two other ones in half up here at work.
Nasty.

Heck yeah! Tomorrow is on! I'm bringing nine cruisers along and about half of them are old fellas. And Wheelie, everything is for sale at the right price
Say hello when you come by...I'll be the biggest guy there and will most likely be the only one sporting a sweet pompadour and Buddy Holley eyeglasses. But I gotta split at 3:00pm, bummer about that. I sure do hope that BSS has a few bike stands....

The Torker won 1st place in one of the categories but I was so drunk I can't remember which one or why for that matter. Maybe it was because I stood by the ballot box all afternoon telling people to vote for #41 and then showed them where the keg was. One thing I was wondering is how the f^K do you take a pit bike to a cruiser show and win anything?j/k Cliff... With all the cruisers that live here in Austin I would have thought more folks would have showed up for this.

I had a good time seeing everybody and checking out all the BLING! There were some really nice rides out there, of course the JMC 24" still has my heart and always will. We need to put together a ride or a pub crawl or something, gotta get these babies out on the road where they belong! (just the "riders" of course)

Yeah, the blue JMC had my love from the get-go.
I wish I would have had my camera...
The 24" Quadangles were pretty rad too.
