I started a new thread on this topic, since the other was like 6 pages long. Question: Is there any interest in doing a VBMX gathering at the skatepark in Ormond Beach, Fla.? (Ormond Beach is just north of Daytona Beach, about an hour from Orlando.)

This is a free skatepark that is part of a local community park--lots of trees, BBQ pits, a playground for the kids, etc. The park is also next to a Publix shopping center. I'm thinking pot-luck, bring your own grub, whatever. Something easy.

Here's a map of the Ormond Beach parks. The skatepark is at the Nova Community Center. Map to park Up until recently there was a temporary firehouse on the park grounds, which would have been good for us old guys. However, the new firehouse is done, so I think the firefighters have left the park for their permanent home.

Only issue might be that technically bikes are only allowed during evenings. I don't know if it's enforced, but I'm guessing a phone call could get us official permission if anyone is concerned. Here are the skatepark rules: Skatepark rules

I dunno, as I haven't gotten that far yet. I'm thinking sometime after we turn the clocks back so it doesn't get dark too early. The park is lit. They also have covered BBQ areas, so we can eat if it's raining. First we need to see if anyone would even be interested.
