It's time to start giving this thing some thought. I'm still waiting on the NBL & ABA sights to post the race schedules for 2006 to finalize the dates, but we can still start a roll call.

lol

Mr. Clean
count me and Fred in as of now, You know we'll be there if we can. We are gonna try to have one in Charlotte this year as well. You gotta come to ours too ya know.
zero9pro24
You know I`ve got to come back and defend my title.
lou
Where? If it`s within 7 hrs of driving I might go.
zero9pro24
Dixieland track in Nashville.
Mr. Clean
hey lou, come on up. Maybe I'll have that rl20II done by then. We had a great time last year. It was only the first one but we had about 15 bikes. This year will be bigger, I just know it. We are gonna have one in charlotte at hornet's nest as well, watch the boards for the info.
Mr. Clean
hey shawn, you got a month in mind, we're gonna have one in charlotte in june. 3 and 4 probably.
Kastanman
I was hoping it would be around the same time (end of August) as last year.

Personally I'm not opposed to moving the Southeast gathering. My original plan was to have it centrally located in the southeast. But I didn't have any contacts at other tracks. I would like to have it in conjunction with a National or Regonal race, so the turn out will be bigger. The Dixieland national is usually a couple of weeks before or after Rockford.

With that said, Nashville did hook us up pretty good. Accommidated NBL & ABA riders so we could have our OG race, and it's a awesome track.

What do you guys think about a traveling gathering? The only downside, IMO, is it makes it harder to plan.
Kastanman
lou, Orlando to Nashville is going to be 10 to 11 Hrs, if their's on women and children involved.

lol

Hey Shawn, I had a great time and looking forward to coming back this year.
Kastanman
Since Dixieland is hosting the State Championship race this year I think that's going to be the best time to have our collectors gathering. The race will be in October, but the dates are not set in stone yet.

Our format will hopefully be the same as last year. Meet n greet, and OG (old guy) race on friday night. The VBMX bike show on and, awards Saturday.

Then we can all go and raid Randy's mom and dad's frige, and dirty up the pool again.
Kastanman
Ok guys I got in touch with the TO at Dixieland, and this is what she had to say.

quote:
Shawn, so far we only know that the State Championship will be in October. We can't set a day yet because I don't know NBL's national schedule for that month yet. I can let you know as soon as I find out. We would love to have you guys back out there with us.

Dorothy
Dixieland BMX

So we'll know more when the NBL gets its schedule up.

Peace out
Shawn

Mr. Clean
thanks Shawn. We'll keep watching for the dates.
Whiskey
Count me in
zero9pro24
Hey Shawn, any news on the dates?
Kastanman
No dates yet Fred. Still waiting on the NBL to post their national schedule.

Whiskey's in the house. Glad to see your still around here. I haven't seen you post much lately. How's things in Nash-vegas?
Kastanman
The NBL website only lists Nationals through April. I think I'll send them an e-mail and see if they can give me some info.
TNJ'Sdad
hhhmmm this sounds like alot of fun!!! i got 2 kastans...and a bunch of hutch's
Whiskey
What's up Kastanman? I've been really busy with work, kids, ect. I don't want to miss this gathering but I don't get the chance to check in very often. I'll pm you my cell#
Please call me when you get the details worked out or if you need some local help. I might be offline for a bit and unable to check in here.
Thanks,
Brian
Kastanman
I got an e-mail from Dorthy (TO) the other day and she thinks it will be the first weekend in Oct.
Kastanman
Hope you and Denise can make it Rob. We had a blast last year. You can check out my ever growing MCS collection. I think I'm going to keep the 240 a survivor bike with new decals. I liked the tuff look you had going, so I got me a pair.
Kastanman
OK this is getting frustrating. The TO can't set a date for the state race, until she know what the National schedule will be for the beginning of the NBL season. The NBL Grands are Sep. 1st. It will most likley be the 6th & 7th or the 13th & 14th of October.

rlowride
hey kastan man.. i have a late 80s mcs i am trying to track down a few parts..
pad set.. sticker set.. bars etc... would you have any extras or leftovers.. or leads?
Randy M.
First weekend in Oct sucks for me. I'll be at the biggest r/c jet meet on the planet. Maybe it will end up a different weekend.
Whiskey
We having another swap meet? I have several things I'm considering letting go.
Kastanman
Whiskey, If you called that a swap meet. Yea I'm going to have a few items there for sale too.

Randy M, I'll bring some more cages if you want to do any trading.
Randy M.
Shawn, I have an old Mongoose we can work something out on.
Kastanman
I hope to have a date soon. The NBL website is showing nationals up to the end of June in Akron OH. Hopefully they will put up the the schedule for the rest of the year soon.
Kastanman
Just a bump to keep it alive. Still waiting on the NBL to post the schedule.
Mr. Clean
Ah Shawn, you had my hopes up for a date, oh well, keep us posted. LOL.
Kastanman
Holy crap! What is with the NBL schedule. The Grands are in August and they have the National schedule up until then.

Why can't they just go ahead and post the schedule for the rest of the year. I guess it would be next years schedule for the NBL since the grands are at the end of summer.

I think I'll give the NBL a call directly and see if they even know that people will want to races after August.
Kastanman
I can't get the any answers from the NBL, so I'm setting the dates for the weekend of Oct. 6th & 7th.

I'm going to reserve a block of rooms again this year, so if you need a room LMK.

This years classes for the show will be

best 70's 20/24
best 80's 20/24
best Freestyle
best survivor 20/24
best Retro 20/24
and an award for Best Of Show.

Shoot me an email for an entry form If your showin.

I'll be bringing a few If I can fit them in.
79 mcs spider
86 mcs magnum 37 pro
88 mcs magnum 37 xlx
88 F/A limo
89 F/A cruiser
06 GHP pro xl (Just to show it off)

Chime in if you still coming.

carldrexler
if i can be part of a car-pool i can get out there maybe.
Kastanman
I hope you can make it carldrexler. We had a blast last year. Largely thanks to Randy M and his awesome parents. There was so much BBQ there, that vegetarians would protest.

Fred I'm going to have to check with Dorothy (TO) to see about the OG race this year. If it winds up on the state Championship weekend, I don't know if she will be as lenient this year on the NBL thing.
Kastanman
Let's get the word out guys. e-mail, PM, call or whatever, anyone who you'd think would be interested in coming.
Kastanman
I'm sorry everyone, but the gathering will not be at Dixieland this year. It will be at Music City BMX.

WTF is up with that. After nearly 30 years, they decided to forget all that history and change the name. That is saaaaddd.

Randy do you know the new TO?
bkquill
I'll be planning on making it!
Ya need to add a "best retro" class!
Now if I can get BIGGEAR (Joel) to come!
Hey Joel, want to meet me around Morristown and caravan it the rest of the way?

Cheers,
Brian
Bags1
Will there be any race related to the event?
Kastanman
Bags 1 I'm hoping we will have our OG (Old Guy) race again this year. There's a new TO and I haven't had a chance to run it by him yet. I left him a voicemail today and I will try again tomorrow.

Nashville is NBL and I'm hoping it will be their state championship final that weekend. Last year they set up a local on friday night and put us in an open class together.

bkquill how would you judge the best resto? You would have to have a before pic or something wouldn't you?
HRPdesigns
HRP is putting it on the calander and I may drag some friends along,

Maybe "The Black ELF"
possibly a 1995 Elf Cruiser

and of course the 05' all chrome plated Welham Pro XL new school ride.

and just to get my arse handed to me, maybe I will bring my 06' GHP cruiser as well.

heck I will even see if a couple of "Team Moto Fillers" want to make the trip.
Kastanman
Yee-haw HRP. You'll have to take the title from Fred Melton.

Has anyone seen the track since they did the rebuild? I here it's completely different then last year, except for the first straight.
Kastanman
Ok guys, it's offical. The OG race is on. I just spoke with Robert Campbell the new TO and he's an old schooler like us, and he's been to Rockford, and he is stoked about having us there.

If your going to show a bike I need to get some info from you. e-mail me at sar.prentice@yahoo.com and I'll shoot you an entry form. Sorry for being pushy about it but I've been waiting on the NBL to get their dates ready, so the track can determine when the TN state championship will be.

HRP You've got mail
Mr. Clean
Finally, the news I've been waiting on. Can't wait to get back this year. I had sooo much fun last year. I got a few more bikes to bring this year, if I can get a trailer. See you guys soon.
bkquill

Not "resto", but RETRO.

Cheers,
Brian
Kastanman
Word up. I'm retarded and dislexic at the same time. I'll add that since I'm bringing my 05 GHP 20" that NOBODY's seen yet. And I also added survivor classes. Do I need to add best 90's classes, or would that be considered the Retro class?

I still need to holla at HRP to see what's up. I know he's probably getting ready for the Grands and is busy.
o4Silverado
Hey Kastanman, I just got a message from you about this event. I tried reading through the post's... but you have anymore information about this event/events that are coming up!? I live in Memphis and wouldnt mind coming out.

Let me know

Thanks,
-Keith
Randy M.
Hey fellas,
I've been away for awhile. I'm catching up on the gathering thing. I should be able to make it but not to sure about the pool party this year. Maybe we should go to Hooters or something.
The track has had some kind of shake up recently. Don't know any details but as Shawn said they have a new TO. I hate they changed the name of the track but they probably had a good reason. Probably some legal mumbo jumbo. A new TO is a good thing. Nothing against Dorothy, but sometimes a change is necesary. I hope they turn it around.
Shawn, if I can help on this end, just call, I'll do my best.
LACK
its a local race for me! Well all be there! J lack
Kastanman
o4Silverado What do ya need to know?

Friday evening we meet at the track hang out and race maybe do a little riding.

Saturday morning set up the bikes for the bike show and swap meet. Watch a little racing, do a little judging of some cool bikes, and maybe do a parade lap.

Saturday evening we meet up at designated spot yet to be determined, swap lies, tell stories, eat and whatever. Oh and give out the awards for the bike.

pm me or shoot me an email if you have any more questions.
