The NBL Michigan State championship race is September 17th here in Traverse City. I'm planning to set up my own display on Saturday. Anyone else is welcome to join me.

Just wondering if either of you raced in Lansing??? If you did, I probably scored you then, LOL... I volunteer a lot in Lansing, since my girl races. I'm trying to talk my husband into getting a cruiser...for him, since he use to race & was pretty good back in the day, from what I hear.

I know my family is looking forward to the next SQ in can am, then the State finals! Rumor has it, Lansing is going to get a national next year, I guess we'll have to wait and see. What we really need in centeral Michigan is an INDOOR TRACK!!! I can keep wishing I guess. Maybe someday

Personally, I never raced in Lansing (my parents wouldn't drive that far). I was always a southeast Michigan racer.

I posted in another thread that I am going to Waterford Oaks BMX this coming weekend to watch. It will be the first time I have been there since 1983!

FYI: Randy and Michelle...regarding the topic of this thread...my wife informed me last night that she has already RSVP'd us for a wedding on September 17th, so I will not be able to make it to Traverse City.

I grew up in Michigan and if there is a large gathering happening, I'd like to hear about it.

I live in Kalamazoo now, formerly Wyandotte, and would definitely be interested in a gathering, although my main interest lies in vintage/80's freestyle more than bmx. If something ever comes about, I'd like to hear about it too.

all michigan bmx'ers ''unite'' let's set up are own gathering in are own state. i think it would be great i dont have many bike's.only 9 right now but i would be willing to help set it up...and show my stuff...

I'd love to meet and hang and display some old bikes one day this Spring/Summer. I would imagine that a location in southeast Michigan would tend to draw in more participation, but I could be wrong.

There are tracks (Waterford, etc...) local to guys like us, but there are also west side tracks and tracks up near Randy in Traverse City.

I'm up for anything. Anyone care to add opinions? Suggestions?

I am about 25 minutes from the Ionia NBL track. They are hosting the MI State Series July 15-16. We live out in the country with a pool and room for camping and such. I have been thinking of hosting a gathering that weekend. Show up anytime Friday-Saturday and hang out unitl Sunday; race the state series Saturday and/or Sunday or just hang at the pool and we will cook out in the evening. I have enough land that riding could occur at the house including a decent jump.

Anybody up for something like this?

I'm thinking Waterford, beautiful park to bring the family to and they are hosting the state championship race for 06. Most of you guys remember this track as a kid so it will no doubt bring back memories expecially if you haven't been to the track in years.

If you want to give it a go let me know I can talk to Vicki and see what we can do for an area.

ED...I'm not too sure how to get this thing revved-up? The thread just seems to stall out after a while...maybe it's not such a grand idea.
