these have to be the worst F*&%$@G grips ever made. we went jumping today and i used my redline proline retro cruiser with a set of cheap fuan oakley knock offs ( yeah i know, insert joke here ) i should know better. my Fu%$*&G hands are killing me. i knew they were cheesy and i just had them on there for looks but i could never have imagined they were as bad as they were. even with gloves they hurt. i guess even with bikes, looks are'nt everything.

You might as well glue 50 grit sandpaper to your bars, homie!

Bike looks killer, but you're right: Fuan grips are teh suck. My sister got an 1100 pound Diamond Back Viper circa 1983 that came stock with them. Worst ever.

they are already off and in the garbage. the bike is a rider so no real f1's just good old ame's for now.

Thanks for the review. Nice looking retro.

The bike looks great!. The grips look good but they feel like garbage. I had the same grips BITD in Black & White. They were Team Cycle's bad version. They also bootlegged a lot of other parts too including Oakley 3, Grab on grips, Cal Lite pads, Skyway Tuff Pedals & Brake Pads, Messinger seats and the list goes on and on. I'm actually looking at the ad in the September 1983 issue of BMX Action. I remember that they sold this garbage at Toys R" Us, Bradless, Caldor and even auto parts stores.

yeah, i remember. i used to buy it at child world, what a great store that was. anyway it was junk back then but it was cheap and looked good. did i mention my hands are STILL killing me.

I recently pulled my real F1s of my retro RL, I love those grips, but I just couldnt see destroying a sweet set of Oakleys...

I was gonna go the "Fuan" route, but I remembered how bad they were bitd so I swapped them out for a new set of A'me Rounds...

I have a set in my closet, maybe I'll stick 'em on the hand cart at work.

The Fuan (Oakley III's) were almost plastic feeling. I am guilty of using them on some builds myself.
