since ive discovered this website some years back....ive heard little mention of robinson bikes. as a kid i remember hearing they were 'one of the best'.....
AtomicPunk
i had a looptail cruiser at one point in the early 90s, i hadnt thought about bmx since the early 80s at that point but decided to find a bike to peddle around on, so i bought a recycler and found an early looptail robinson cruiser for ......get this.....$85. (I also bought a skyway ta bike complete for $40 around the same time). anyways....the robinson seemed like a great sturdy bike. lets hear about your robinsons and see some pics!

Yeah, I think Robinsons are under represented here. I'm intending to build a classic 1981 Robinson Pro. Here she is so far . . .

Need a handle bar pad in better condition than mine (anybody?).

here is my rebuild/replica of my original race bike. It has my original bars, number plate, brake pads, seat post, seat.

here is my other Robinson f/f. The fork is NOS and the frame was NOS and raw when I got it. I had it powederd and built up with different forks. It has an extra hole in the dropout -different style than any other I've seen-it also had no serial numbers on it.

I see a complete 1983 Robinson 24 sold recently on Ebay for a shade over $1500. I was quite surprised, as there aren't a lot of those around. It even had the Robinson cruiser bars.

I always like Robinsons, and always thought they looked like really high quality bikes. They are very rare down here in New Zealand. In fact, I dont recall any at all back in my race days.

Yup, I bid $1500 on it, but lost by 26 bucks. Oh well, I already have one 1983 Robinson 24 in my collection.

As far as rare goes, I would say they are one of the rarest cruisers out there, period. I have been watching for another one as early as mine and until this week, haven't seen one. The closest I have seen on here is DMG's 1985 Looptail cruiser. I saw another red looptail for sale in England a few years ago, but other than that, none.

I just scored one off a buddy of mine. It's a stamped R Gusset 80-82 I think. I used to own one back in the day. It was my first REAL race bike. It was also one of the first 10 in Australia. I bought it off Blair Shepard at BMX Promotions(Windsor Track) str8 off the showroom floor.

Does anyone have any serial number info on these?

Does anyone have any sticker kits?

way cool .........

This is my 1988 24" that Im currently building. I beleive this is the first year Robinson has the extra seat tube plate, and the last year of the true loop.
