Shawn, did you race David Alwan? He would have been about your age. And maybe the younger Byerly (can't think of his name, older brother was Bruce).

I remember both names I'm not sure I raced against Byerly. There was a group of us from the Quincy, IL area that all started racing around the same time (79 - 82). There was several of us that traveled all the time and some that did everyonce in awhile. From our group that traveled alot were Jim and Amy Rupert, Chris George, Rocky Rockwell & Darrel, can't think of his last name. We were all different age groups and some of the names blend from different age groups. I can't remember if Byerly raced against Chris George or me. My age shows as details are not very good any more. I remember faces way better than names. Did you ever race the ABA track over by Springfield? I raced the number one plate holder over there several times. I wish I could remember his name, he was a dirty rider. He recked me countless times. Is there a site where you can look up Illinois State standings, National Standings for those older years? I goofed on a posting earlier, thought I raced until 84, found the only BMX today I own and it was 82. I found news paper clipping and in 81, I finished 19th in national standings and 5th in Illinois State. That was the year that you rode alot correct? I was in the 12X class then, you probably raced Jim, Darrel or Rocky and that is why I remember your picture.

Welcome to the forum Shawn.
The only 25ft right hander burm i remember was Landmark in Peoria. It wasn't a giant starting hill (like supercross), but it went on a while with a little LH sweeper before the huge RH burm. I remember a local guy Toby Sharp who'd jump off the back side of that thing! He was a little crazy that way. Tim

Hey old buddy. I am really glad my parents took pictures when I was younger. Here is that berm

Troy,

Are you using a scanner for these? If so, it should let you drag and select the area to scan. This way you will have all picture and no white space.

Let me know if I can give you some tips on that.

Best,

M

I keep getting an error that the upload failed because the image was larger that the available space! Can someone help me out here. I rescanned pictures like Mark said but still have a problem. Is there a limit to space available? Do I need to check out the image hosting deal?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Troy

Anyone remember that track they had in Washington Ill. I think it was a fair race or some kind of 1 time special event.

Tim, I read in an ealier post about you talking about Ade and how he was teaching us life lessons. I really know what you mean. He was a great man and willing to help anyone. He gave me a break and taught me alot. Heres a picture dedicated to him. His son Mike Antonini at the Springfield Convention Center.
