I was planning on bringing some stuff along, and riding, but not racing. .....I thought the Condo was a Saturday gig though.
I got got out voted, all to 1, on second shift at work, on trading New Year's day for working on Friday.
I'm using a few vacation days, and I have from the 21'st through the First of the year off..... But I am scheduled to work from 3PM to 1AM on Friday the 4th. So unless I take a vacation day, I'm out. I don't get vacation days like I used to....
Sorry kidz, but I don't think I'll be in attendance on Friday.
Who the he!! picked a Friday? (we need the old "Brick" smiley thingy here)

Well that just plain Sucks that you can't make it Ted! but understand though. It was on Friday last year, and didn't want to disrupt the Barn's money making regular days of racing. If it's a good turnout/interest it'll be a full weekend of racing next year for everyone and all ages.
BTW, actually racing is not the important part....just being there is what is all that is wanted.

BND - Maybe you should make your way over to the Kearney National. Some of us MN boys are going and we could use a good butt kickin.
All joking aside, the 39-49 class is really stacked. If the usual characters all race, making the main is going to be a real accomplishment.

I was checking out some other funny threads on VBMX and I remember some discussion here about boom boxes at the track and even some break dancing going on between moto's.
Anyone remember the Panasonic Platinum boom box commercial with Earth, Wind & Fire
Panasonic PlatinumI remember riding around the neighborhood holding the boombox with my thumbs facing me while holding on to the handlebars blastin Van Halen.
I remember Eric Levander having a mondo big boom box blasting Iron Man at the St. Paul Civic Center.

Paul's taste in music must be tainted by all the daytime TV he's been gettin' while lounging about in recovery mode.
He was the first person I know who had a U2 album - which was mind blowing at the time, it was Boy in 1980 or so, so I'll cut him some slack.
Ya, the boomboxes - Erik had a massive one, I had mine along as backup for one of our freestyle shows at the Roy Wilkins - it disappeared though - I'm guessing it was dropped from a hotel window that very evening.
Good times...

Hey, here's a cliche´question - but what gearing are you running?
I just dropped off my bike to get it finished up, my only options are leaving me at 2:1, 52" gear inch 26" wheel - seems a tad steep for the Barn ??
I think I used to run a 40/18 up there on the 24. Since I'm 26" now, my options are 34/17, 34/18, or 36/18 (same as 34/17).
Go ahead, I'm sure someone will make jokes - but I'm serious d'mat.

Weren't we just talking about using helmets? Those shorts don't look like they're protecting much.

Brad, are you saying you run a 41/18? (41/18)*24 = 54.6 GI
34x17 on a 26 is 52 GI, 34x18 is 49.1 - that's a pretty big jump.
I can run either a 34 or 36 up front, which means I should do a 17 or 18 on the back. Just trying to get close to average for the Barn.

Mark, the photos were taken by some older kid in photography class. I don't know how I ended up with negatives. The track was in the neighborhood I grew up in. It was a new development and every time I got something started, they would sell the lot and I would have to start over again. My back hurts just thinking about how much dirt I shoveled.
