These jumps take skill?? are you talking about the same ones the 6 year old beginners roll over too?
KOP, I'm a bit harsh on ya sometimes, but keep in mind 95% of the riders on here slammed on those jumps at one time or another and would agree, there not easy to get over at full throttle... Atleast back then it wasn't... Moving on now!
Here's one of my fav's... Mr. DC in control (like always)... care to name the other guys. I know who they are, I took the photo.
I'll post a few indoor pics today. This damn snow has me in the civic center mood... Remember those Storms we use to get and it ALWAYS happened on a race weekend..

Thanks for finding those pics Shawn. That will help in getting as close to the original look as we can with Nate's frames. You said you had a business card w/ the art on it you can scan?
That frame looks sweet in black!

I did race the wood. Those old indoor races were very exciting. There was alway something about being able to ride you bike indoors in the winter, that just made it even more fun.. I remember walking my bike or riding through those long hallway to get into the civic center. Just the excitement I felt..
At the St. Paul civic center, there was that one hall that went down hill.. I remember a guy doing a coaster wheelie down it... The excitement was in the air...
Thank you for that pic Jerry. Now I have a better understanding of wooden jumps at the Civic Center.

I hear that you can work from home these days. I can forward some of the E-mails from my filters to you guys, if you'd like?
The indoor thing was neat. The jumps weren't that big of a deal. But the Floor following the jumps was the issues. I had thought numerous times "Is this really racing?".
But the Shakapee indoor track with dirt was cool. Until you couldnt' breath the air in there! HAHAHAHAHAHAH

indoor concrete was the beginning of Winter racing in the cold states. To fill the civic center full of dirt at that time period would have cost a fortune, so the alternative was the wood jumps. Very cool thing to get the indoor thing off the ground. Not sure what the first dirt indoor was, but I'm sure the 81 Grand's was probably one of them. That was god like for its day and I'm glad I was there. HUGE jumps (for the day). To have Rehbein's now is a blessing as opposed to the 2 day events BITD.

Brad, I'm building a track just for you. I know how much you like snow, so I thought it would be fun to have an outdoor practice track.
Here's the start of the rythm section.

First berm

My nephew packing the snow.

I figure with some more packing, a few layers of ice, and some ice spikes, the track should be good to go.

Looks like fun, if its you and your nephew doing the freezing. LOL! Your right, hate the cold/snow. I'm un-inspired to do anything out there. Its a good time to work on cars/bikes and hit the tanning bed. Winter fun: I'm converting Matti's (Paul's daughter's) old GT micro into a red color w/ OS GT decals... Should be cool. Lots of work to do, but the Company doing the sandblasting will do most of the hard part..
I gottta say, A snow race sounds fun. Will 2008 see the inaugural Chucky Classic?
