Jansville was a fun track. Don't think I made the trip for that National though. Went up for a dble or trple pointer though.
That drop-off was a blast!

Ronnie didn't get the "Crazy" nickname for nothing. Lived with Richie down So-Cal & when Ronnie came down to visit the law was usually involved.

Wasn't Ronnie one of those guys, if he was having a good day, you will loose. He was blistering fast for a period of time. I read something on this site that between him and Richie they had over 7k trophies. Those two had great bmx results. Richie, probably THE most successful amateur rider to date.

Man, I have to post some pics soon. I'm remembering things that I have from those days in So-Cal.
I'm going to have to confirm this with a friend that was close to him, but i believe the other Boss rider #18 is Darrin Griffen, Darwins brother, & is RIP as well. geeeez...

Didn't GJS's have the built in seat clamp and it adjusted from side facing the front of the bike???
Your bars were Hutch, I know you don't believe me, but its because of your bars I bought Hutch bars. What a difference from the GT bars.. Sean, yes it was Mark's old GJS. DC also ran a GJS back on Tremco....see bmx plus cover with DC and Will Scurto...

He had one too! All you Freeborn County guys had all the new techno. I bought my first set of Philwood hubs from you laced to red Araya's....Ya, the same set that Shan Lynde cut the spokes out of.
Mark, can you even name all your bikes?
Mine is easy:
75 Schwinn Scrambler "Ted Carl model"
78 GT/CYC Ames Stormer
80 GT standard w/ Euro BB
82 GT pro (Jeff Manning signature model, this was before he quit)

83 GT pro ( bent the frame in crash with Mike Salido)
83 GT pro ( the only frame I got for free) sold the bike to J. Wendt

I guess mine could have been a Nelson bro pre-owned GJS-but I like to imagine The great Conifer rode it before I.

Boecker is hiding back in 5th place. When is your birthday Scott? I didnt race you that often...I know Sean Noble(1st), myself(2nd) and a guy named Bob ?(3rd) were all kinda tall/bigger compared to some in our 13x class. But Brad Apold proved that being jockey size doesnt have to hold your bmx career back.

Great Scot! I think Troy had more though. Man that guy had the frames/forks.
Sean, yes, between 80-81 those were some darker years of bmx for me. Locally it was okay. but some of those larger races I wasn't doing so good. Everyone was growing, but me...I caught up some in 82 and 83 too. You weren't exactly tall though, taller than me. Shan Lynde was another small kid and so was Boecker....... Little like me.
