Looks like you guys had a great time, cool pics! I recognize the locations, when was this gathering? I am jealous, was this an invite only event? I didn't see anything in the gathering's but you tease us with pics on the "MN 80's racing" thread.

Is that the SE cruiser that was at the barn last Winter??? Nifty ride! I watched some trick riding the other night on EPSN or something, and its just insane what those guys are capable of. Wish I had guts like that.
Mikko, were you riding under the water tower of power too??
Anyone barn'n out this weekend? I will try to make a race Sat/Sun and practice on race day. Gotta scale back on the trips this year.
DUG, great track updates!!! I had allot of fun Friday learning how to ride again. That second straight is fast and I can actually pedal now. Very fun!!!!!
Pauli, your gates are solid man!!! Impressed!!!! You've made great improvements over last season forsure!!!

We put together a last impromtu pegs and rotors freestyle session of the year. Because it started at my house, it was on the smaller side, but anyone that was there was welcomed to invite whomever.
The pic of pipe and bill was pretty cool, they actually hit tires. It was a good time, only minor crashes and injuries.

INTENSE SESSIONING (lol):

Rod's skating was a highlight of the day: berts, kickturns and style for miles. The bike he was riding was sweet too.

My Freestyle bike is still broken, so I rode the 73' World Voyager from Mendota. The board was all I had for the terrain. Old from top ta bottom.

Another entertaining read from Lance White's BLOG on Sponsorhouse:
Rum River/ Rehbeins opener
Hell Yeah! These late season double headers are my favorite time of the year to race. Rum river on Saturday afternoon, then a short drive to Lino Lakes for the "barn" The weather is perfect for it. Sometimes it's tough to find the motivation to go after a busy summer but it's always worth it. Especially this weekend. I have conquered the mountain! Hell, I might as well retire now. I beat Jeff Moe this weekend! Him and Dave Christensen at Rehbeins. The new track is pretty cool, faster. It was a total pts extravaganza. Came down to the last moto and thanks to Dave's skillz at holding off the "flyin LO" I clinched it with 5 pts. (1st, 1st, 3rd) Moe had three 2nd's, Dave got 3rd, 3rd, and 1st. Several people told me once again that us old guys put on the race of the night, and I would agree. Sorry folks, didn't get this one on tape, but it was intense. After the race, I saw FIRE in the eyes of Jeff and Dave, I'm guessing they wanna race again.
However, Aaron Zdon is still on the list after another great start at Rum River. (beat him in the 1st round qualifier, which does'nt really count, does it?) 2nd place for me. Can't really tell you much more about this race, other than the fact that it was the first time in my life that I beat Moe. He got 3rd. See ya next weekend.
HEY GUYS! JUST SIGNED UP TONIGHT... WIERD TO SEE MY NAME ON HERE (AND ON A "HIT LIST").

Hello Aaron..

I'll describe it the best I can.
1) First straight about the same, but the "triple" is 30ft long vs 23ft it was last year but much smoother. First berm about the same.
2) biggest changes is the 2nd straight. There is quad style jump in the middle, so its like one smaller jump then a step up, then the 3rd jump is about the same as the 2nd and the 4th is like the first.
So its
small big,
little-bigger,
small.
Coming out of the first berm is really fast and if you have no fear, its great hit'n that quad.
3) just before the 2nd corner there is a cool smaller double and you can clear it easy, however the corner happen right now
4) and then the last straight has the 7 whooops nicely evenly spaced and there great. I was able to clear the last two because you can time it so much better. Other than that, the lap times are sure to be the same.

MC Shizzle

I have a cool one of MN2z, but it must be tucked away deep in the vault.
BTW, Sandberg (top pic) is still the only one that tips the scale the same as he did 26 years ago.
But I do still find it interesting that John Sandberg still makes the print, AND he is top contender at the "PHAT TIRE FESTIVAL", and is in the "PHAT TRACKS" news

Those Faction throwdowns look fun. Someday I will attend wearing a pink Hutch uni, then let them beat the crap out of me.
Sandbergs will return to the Barn in two weeks...hoping to clear the quad on my first lap around the track. EMTs will be on hand.
Anyone got a Jr. bike for sale? Cal has pretty much outgrown his mini and needs the next size. Is Tahoe still in business?
I'm a loser for never putting together a MTB-ride/VBMX rider get-together. Don't worry, mountain bikes don't bite and BMX bikes are allowed. Next year for sure.
Hope everyone is doing well. I'm drinking lots of Muscle Power and practicing gates.

I had a big week on the bike,
let's just call it training for the Condo.
Thurs night • 2.5 hours of Bike Ball under the lights
Friday night • 2 hours at the Barn
Saturday • 30 miles, and lots of antics at the Homie Fall Fest (see photo below)
Sunday • 2 (painful) hours of Bike Ball under the sun.
I've rediscovered flat pedals in the process. Sweetness.

The Waltons should be returning to the barn shortly after Thanksgiving. Be advised, I've been bulking up - about 15 pounds - with a steady diet of duck kabobs, venison chili and Windsor Pepsi. And, while I haven't touched my bike since the Isanti Nat, I have been on a steady 20 mile per weekend jungle training program, high-stepping cattails and waist deep sloughs from Minnesota to North Dakota.

I think it was Stu who said the path to BMX greatness runs through the sloughs of NoDak and Minnesota. Taking five months off means you're fully rested and peaking.
