" hey gorgious, don't set that on my table, if it spills I might get wet"

Brad, what was it you set on her table?

Nice job this weekend, although I think your competition is already petitioning to get you moved up to Inter. You were embarrassing them.

really? LMAO... I don't care what they do really. Racing is racing and I approach things the same way in any form of it.... I do my best.

The announcer seemed convinced I'm in the wrong class. I've never raced 20" (as an adult) so I didn't know what to expect (other than Strehlo and gang at Rehbeins 4 times). We didn't have an intermidiate class anyway, so it wouldn't have mattered, unless I'd move to expert, in that case so be it. I've only owned a 20" since March and haven't riden it since April... as I said, wasn't sure what class I should have ran so I started from the basement.

Gary, I set my water bottle on the table. LOL!

Congrats BA! Looks like it was an awesome weekend, hope the Chucker is feeling better.

Happy 4th everyone. cool.gif

Excellent event and weekend for the Sandberg family. My boy entered his first race, made the main and tipped over in the first corner. He was mad about that, but loved everything else about the experience (dozens of kids playing in the skatepark between motos, camping, the road next to the track being shut down just for the race, the Christensen RV Fun Center, etc..).

Props to everyone who came, whether they raced or not. DC family, Conley, Springer, Boecker, Waltoona, Kraker, Moe, Mike Aumen, Apold, Paul Cater, Dave's mom Dianne, Theo, Russ, and whoever I'm forgetting...

Bottom line for me: I love the people and laughter. Funny stuff happens when old (and new) BMXers get together. Life is good.

I'm so thankful that Scott Kraker is okay. His crash and the pain he felt afterwards definitely scared me.

I'm also thankful for the people who make racing happen. The group that built that track cannot be praised enough. Any person who makes BMX happen, on any level, gets my sincerest respect and thanks.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes. I feel very lucky that I didn't get hurt very bad. Just a sore hip, chest, and shoulder. My 661 race gear saved me from some serious injuries.

Thank you to everyone that helped me in any way last Friday, especially you Mark. I just remember every time I opened my eyes at the hospital, you were there. My wife was very happy that you and John helped out and kept her informed of what was happening.

It was great being back at the track on Saturday to say thanks and watch some great racing.

There was so much going on I didn't get to talk to you much... What do you remember?? first jump/2nd straight??
I cleared stupid thing in practice Sat and there's no way I'd do that during a race. I could see the tops of campers for gosh sakes. That one will take some manuvering. Really glad your alright though.

Great racing had by all on Sunday. It was fun watching the OSers, I still kinda get butterflies watching that class.
DC- you need to start throwing elbows in that first turn to hold your ground like you used to do to me BITD in open class. J/K You looked strong Dave.
G-Ray- You look very fast out there, to bad about your gate fold (to much adrenalin) in the main.
Ape-hold- You need to move to expert or ditch that 20" and get back on the Cruiser.

It was great seeing everyone again- Springboard, Wendt, Psycho, Auman, Hammer, DC, Brad, Gary, ect, ect, ect.
Sorry I wasn'y there on Satuday to hang with Q-tip, MC, Kraker (Hope your feeling better Scott), Boecker, and the rest of the gang. I'm real sorry I missed Theo, I hope you said "Hi" to him for me John.

Great track and facility, I tip my hat to the people involved. Great weather, great racing. cool.gif

Yea, my 661 race gear, Popeye's Chicken, Castrol, All the Racing, Phil Wood, Bob Reedy, Cook's Brothers cruiser was running great until we blew a tire and hit the wall - but we'll be back campaigning a new racer real soon... huh.gif

Glad to hear you're doing well Scott. Just a little NASCAR humor for ya.

Ted Carl'sBad, You build er' and Conduit is gonna donate the stickees for this build, Unless of course you sell it on ebay and get $5,00000000, then I get $49.99 out of it... That is an awesome part of the past (not Brad, just the photo op:)

HEY!!!!!!!!! How come it says DC's birthday is today on VBMX? I told that Weasle-Sandberg-Seat-Sniffer happy B-Day on Saturday, AND 3 months ago on here!

Is he looking for handouts again? Don't send him any gifts until we see a birth cert. He needs to be on the Neg. section on here for this crap he is pulling. I for one will not tollerate this scamming gifts behavior!

Ha-ha-ha-ha! Funny guy tongue.gif I want you to know I was going so fast in that picture the #7 peeled off.. that or maybe it was from the tremerous landing with that 40lb bike.

Ted, there's a slight chance I still have the black "schwinn" logo'd banana seat w/ legs up in Dad's gah-rage... I have to take a peek. I know my Schwinn "lil tiger" is forsure and possibly the coverted 16" Mini Scrambler that I painted to look like the 20" Scrambler. The Apold's were die hard Schwinn folk ya know.... ya! tongue.gif

Mark Sat. was correct but the way I look at it: Birthdays are good for you. Statistics show that the people who have the most live the longest. Thus Moe You and I are good for the 60+ Class shortly!

Other factors, with Nat. entry fee this weekend Sand Man and I are pinching the budget and the kids are sharing clothing. Note the "One Shirt" concept with our pit team members.

I had an absolute blast and I am still tired from the weekend. It was great seeing everyone race, I hope to be back to it again soon. Camping was awesome, hanging out Friday night and going through DC's bmx history books his mom built (5 giant 3 ring binders) with Conley and Sandbox brought some great memories and some good laughs (pass the highlighter). Saturday night DC set up the LCD projector at the campground and we watched Jox Jag video's from the early 1980's at the outdoor theater followed up by Alvin & the Chipmunks. Minnesota represented BIGTIME at the national with some awesome results. It was great seeing friends old and new, what a great sport!

Glad you guys had a good weekend, Geno is really bummed he missed racing Harry - says he used to race some downhill with him, and he and Gene once played broomball together at a QBP Frostbike event. I'm bummed I didn't get to race him for that matter - I've got to make more time to ride with you guys before summer is over. State championships is probably the next big one, huh?

So, can someone post up the results? Just wondering how everyone did. Doesn't look like ABA has them yet. More pics would be cool too.

Hey, is anyone racing this weekend? - looks like we're in town watching the neighborhood dogs. Wouldn't mind getting some track time.
King of Pipeline
Looks like my OM Flyer is done being fixed over in Mankato... So that gives me a reason to go and hit the races also.. Of course i'll ride or race my Free Agent..
Looks like the races last weekend were great also... I got paid 20.00 of the hundreds i'm owed for working,,so looks like the 20.00 is going to be gone..

I just put my #'s on my plate with electrical tape... so i'm ready baby...
King of Pipeline
I just read this about Mankato.. Looks like i'm shafted again... amazing....

Unfortunately we weren't able to get everything done for tonight. To much water from the weekend. We've been busy trenching in our new drains all day. I just don't think it'll be dry enough for tonight. We'll be out there working though so feel free stop by and check it out or even come lend a hand. I'll confirm our event for next week right here as soon as I can guarantee the work is done. Thanks again and sorry.

I'm back on...... yes...

I would have tonight,, but, I can't afford to drive over there just for that.. i'm sure all the volunteers live in Mankato..... With my car and money,, it's not easy, to go anywhere now.... But i'm still stoked on going tonight.. anybody else on here go there??

So, I guess no response to my request for where the races are at.

I give up, I can't seem to find a consolidated schedule anywhere (no - I'm not clicking every track on ATR) - and I'd rather know where you guys are planning on being so I know it's worth my while to go out and have a class. I thought this forum was where you guys were keeping in touch, but I guess there is some secret handshake/email thing that I'm missing.

I came really close to going to the Cannon Falls thing you guys were talking about last month, really close... didn't even realized you were actually going to St. Michael - which I could have made. (Sandberg later told me the Cannon Falls thing was a joke, and thought my post about where and what time was adding to the joke).

I give up guys. See ya round. Not pissed, just don't have the time to go driving all over the state looking for you guys.

Shawn, At the top of Mark's site is a schedule day by day of all the local/statewide events per track. Top, Center, you can't miss it.. Chill out a bit, most people are probably taking a breather after last weekend. I'm not racing for a while again. Maybe the Faribault State Q.

Check it out and I'm sure there will be a few guys around... BA

No, those races on ATR are the State Qualifier, Double points, etc. Seems like everyone else knows where to be and when, but every time I ask - silence (or - "just go to ATR"). I'm just glad I didn't rush down to Canon Falls that Saturday morning, then I really would have been pissed.

Shawn, okay, I see what your talking about. There aren't a ton of guys that regularly vistit this thread that race. Paul, Mark, DC, John, me, etc are the common folk (relatively speaking) tongue.gif. Most don't always race or go, so that's the silence. As for me, I'm not going anywhere this weekend.

I think there's a race up North this weekend that some are going too, but unless they visit here (which isn't allot) you may not always get the right now answer your looking for. I'm always in the dark when it comes to events. The only reason I paid attention to the national is I wanted to see what it was really like now days. It was fun. Really though, chill and don't take it personal. cool??

If you want to race this weekend just look at the tracks you want to hit and take it from there. There's always usually a 24" class...

No local racing this weekend and Hull Rust, Hibbing has canceled
WBL BMXer - aka Chucky
The summer race deal for us older guys is a little tough now that the races are spread out at all the different tracks. Winter is easy because there is only one place to go.

As far as weekend races, Brad's tip about the list on the ATR site is the only consolidated schedule for weekend races during the summer. Each track runs their single point races during the week. Weekend races are usually just the state races or a dbl points race for life which brings out us points chasers.

Best bests for good weekday races are Isanti on Tuesday night and Faribault on Thursday night. Mankato has a small group that races on Weds night and St. Cloud has a couple fast cruiser riders that race on Monday night. I don't believe St. Michael has a very good turnout, but I could be wrong.

Up coming races to consider: No racing this weekend (Hull Rust in Hibbing is closed), State race in Dillworth (Fargo area) on Sat 7/12 (probably a small turnout), St. Michael State race on Saturday 7/19 (good turnout), then the big race weekend of 7/26-7/27 in Faribault, Mankato, & Brainerd.

I hope to be healed up enough for the 7/26 weekend, but it's not looking good right now.

Take it slow. Your lucky to even be able to ride a bike this soon.. Just ride and keep the parts move'n but no racing. (IMO). My arms are sore and I rode the Isanti track 5 times Sat. and 2 times Sunday and my arms are still sore.... That was practice laps included. So many hard pulls on that track I can imagine how you feel.
