Sweet MTB bike, seat sniffer. Which reminds me...
....MMOFOB.
Yes, MMOFOB.
Which you all know is the acronym for Minnesota Mountainbike Outing For Old Bmxers.
The idea is to set a date sometime this summer and enjoy an easy-paced, sexy ride on some sweet MTB trail, followed by some refreshments and injury comparisons. I might even arrange for a BMXA Trick Team show afterwards.
Does this sound sexy, er, STOKE, to y'all?
I know it's impossible to pick the perfect day but, for those interested, would you prefer a weekend afternoon, or weeknight?
GREAT idea, this would be awesome! Maybe meet up mid-afternoon on a Sunday and BBQ after (?) We could ride up at Elk River and I would be more than willing to offer my house and BBQ grill for a post gathering. I am open for anything, anywhere, anytime. Let's definetly keep this discussion going FOR SURE!

Where did you find this picture?
It's from Rockford last weekend. The guys at MJT shot it. I thought I'd get a somewhat cool shot for our team collection, except I didn't see the lame-O expression in the proof. Oh well, it turned out to be good fun around our shop.

Doing some serious thinking about a summer MTB ride, and a doing a little thinking about some track time as well.
It's going something like this:
A. Dirt in my shoes?
B. Sand in my toes?
A. Sand in my Teeth?
B. Squirting water between my teeth?
A. Sweat and dirt covering my skin?
B. Cool lake water covering my skin?
A. Gatorade to keep me hydrated?
B. Mikes Hard Lemonade and MGD to keep me hydrated?
A. Fending off mosquitoes with large amounts of Deet?
B. Utilizing the wisdom that mosquitoes can't bite you when you are in the water?
A. Pumping through the rollers?
B. Swaying in the rollers?
A. Eating a hot, squished, granola bar for energy to keep pushing forward?
B. Eating Cheetohs and spiked watermelon and making sure the anchor keeps me from moving forward?

I'll be needing a little help in making the "A" team this year. So far, all I can muster is "B's".....
I guess, I'm fine with the "B" team lately......
..... It's a 1959....with a 1959 motor.....and it goes 19.59 MPH....
A. Picking fresh dirt out of the rash-berries?
B. Toweling off and eating fresh raspberries from the cooler?
You see where I'm having trouble with all this?

This is a random thought that was maybe inspired by the Tahoe flashback, but do you remember the smell of fresh rubber when you opened a new box of Vans.
I love everything about racing today, but I don't think there's any longing for something you drooled over in a ad for 6 months or desire to have a certain brake lever you saw on Stu's bike in a race photo.
I know times change but I am so glad I was part of the sport in it's infancy when there was a huge passion for every new day.
Okay, back to work...

Yeah, I remember the smell of my BW's after a double header on 95+ degree days and a couple of egg salad sandwiches washed down with some TAB soda pop. Umm, always reminded me of rotting pumpkins..

How about the cool "imprint" that your pedals would make on the soles of Vans, after racing/riding with them for a summer? (Let's not turn this into clips vs. flats topic...)

I mainly remember the uncool imprint DX pedals left on my shins. In fact, I don't even have to look that hard to find them now.

What an awesome weekend for racing. You couldn't ask for better weather.
It was great being back at the track again. The racing in the 41-45 class on Sunday was insane. The battle between Moe, DC, and G-ray was great. Congrats to Gary on a hard fought win. I can't wait till I get to join in the mix next year.
The best part was that everyone left the track in good shape. The track is pretty technical and if you're not paying attention, you can get hurt very easy.
See you guys this weekend at the national.

The MN 24" guys looked real good Saturday. I watch just about every race. This track is a nice stretch on the o'l legs, the obsticals are demanding and if your not paying attention you'll go down. I didn't see that many crashes and I was suprised actually.... Good luck to all the MN National competitors Fri-Sun!
The gate angle isn't very steep (vs Rehbein's), so you find yourself dig'n deep for speed out of the hole. It took a few times around to get use to, but I liked it... ALLOT. Anyone on the race-fence, just go here, the track is fantastic!
