Still looking for a place to ride practice nights... I seriously don't know the outdoor scene, can anyone give me a REAL response? At least Manning mentioned a track, even though it's been closed for 20 years.

The is a site called ATR that has all the track web sites, and the all have updates info except for a couple

2 weeks till Rock

Your going to Rockford and you can't find a place to practice here???

KOP, are you related to anyone in Wassseeeca that won the lottery??? If so, I'll stop giving you shiot. tongue.gif
Shawn Sheely MN-1
Thanks guys,

Mark - I looked at your site before I posted, I didn't notice the tracks along the top line. The site has gotten pretty heavy on the content, nice job.

Brad, no plans for Rockford - too much going on this month.

Just got my bike back and I'm jonez'n to ride. I'm not going to be making any frames after all (for those interested) - although it sounds like we're going to make a couple of prototypes, I need to get the liability insurance sorted out - and protos allow me to build without worrying about legal issues.

I guess St. Michael on Tuesday nights is the closest track. Geno and I are hoping to race the Land-o-Lakes Nat. so I need a little tune up.

I'm not related to those bastards..If I was, you'd have a nice NOS GT at your door...

Sorry, guess I need to make that clearer. there is 600+ views a day on there and take that for granted that people can find what they need. I'll work on that. Thanks.

Shawn, I didn't ask if you were going to Rockford. That was a "KOP" question... LOL!!!

BTW, see you at the national (hopefully sooner of course). Should be allot of fun. I need to get over there and ride the track. I also need to sign up 20" ABA. I guess I can't transfer 24" member to 20".

Wow, what a great weekend of racing out at Green Lake BMX in Spicer MN. Saturday was the first outdoor state championship qualifier and the weather was perfect. There was a little bit of a late start to get the track prepped for racing but it was well worth it. Green Lake BMX had there biggest turn out in years with 63 moto's. The hospitality from the Green Lake volunteers was also top notch, super nice people. I look forward to more friday night races out in Spicer. In the old man group we had Dave Christensen, Gary Walton & myself. BIG congrats to Cal Christensen who made his first Intermediate main event.

Sunday was a double points Race for Life and the track was flawless, these guys really know how to get a track fine tuned. The weather was great and the turn out was a little lighter with 13 moto's. In the old man group we had Lance White, Gary Walton & myself. All in all it was a wonderful time and I look forward to more outdoor racing, June is going to be a busy BMX month.

Mark should have all the the pictures and the main event video up soon on ALL THE RACING.

Wow, great edit guys... cheese tray?.... I had a ton fun Sat. w/cal making the main, thanks for support! Sun eve, we rode 15 miles up and back Luce Line with Cal's new SPD's. Rachel rode in the yard w/out trainning wheels. Life-Is-Good! d.c.

Finally some new racing photos... Looks like it was perfect out there. I can't believe how bad my bike looks compared to everybody elses... Mankato starts soon...
Paul Springer
With all the spare time you have KOP you should volunteer your time getting the Mankato track ready for the season. Volunteering is a great way to keep busy and better yet getting your favorite track polished and ready for its 2008 season. Even better than that the other track volunteers & board members would really appreciate it. Even better than that volunteering gives you a warm fuzzy feeling inside.
Guest200901
I'm thinkin' KOPster's warm fuzzy feeling comes from the CATster BAXter

Congrats Scott...and of course your whole family too! A new baby is similar to when the Six Million Dollar Man goes through the time warp tube......at least thats how I felt. WOW.
scott Boecker
thanks guys , yes im in a time warp wacko.gif

Gary Walton
Congrats Boecker! Hope you still find a little time to get out to a track near you.

DC, Saturday's main was absolutely the most fun I've ever had on a bike in my life. The side by side overjump into the first turn was both terrifying and hilarious at the same time. Nothin better than rubbing elbows with your BMX hero.

ATR Mark, nice chattin' with you and gettin back on the same page.

Pauli and Lance, lets keep in touch and try to hit some of the same events. Lot's of rain this week, so I might have to scrap the Boundary Waters trip and hit a race this weekend. Rockford is totally on my mind now.

Take Care.

G-Ray™ ~ Echo!! That 1st straight double coming into the corner, I thought “Oh my god I over shot the double by 5ft on landing on the flat” All of sudden I hear G-Ray “OH…..” I look out of the corner of my vision and Gary passes me in mid air. G-Ray U’s got power my friend! Great run and I think you should hit Rockford keep the MN OS boys on the Nat. map w/your points.
Paul Springer
G-Ray,

I had a total blast as well, following you and DC in a close third you guys were friggin soaring thru the air.

GREAT WEEKEND!

On a sad note I noticed that in Kearney Nebraska there were damaging toradoes that knocked down the fairgrounds building where they have th national.
Shawn Sheely MN-1
Elbow rubbing love-fest, huh? Good times...

I'm heading up to St. Michael tonight, in case anyone needs a lift or wants to meet.
Jeff Manning
I'm racing in Cannon Falls this weekend. Sandberg E-mailed me saying there are going to be some Heavy-Hitters showing up.. I sure hope they have a berm in the first and second turn now after all this time. wink.gif

I raced at Cannon Falls once. Downhill, no berm, definitely foot down, it was all good. Anybody remember a guy named Russ Hoad? He was a Simon LeBon looking dude who along with Theo were the main 17 & Over comp that day. I actually raced him quite a bit as a pre-Expert.

SS, it's not a love fest until you get to smell the glove.

Track is on the fairground property right when you come in to town past HWY 52. Race is Saturday Reg. 11am-12:30pm. Reg is in the old biga$$ white construction trailer, behind the ford conversion van

John Sandberg
Yeah, I'm hitting Cannon Falls this weekend too. If I want any chance at a podium, I've got to get the staggered-jump first straight a little more dialed in.

KOP, since you're in volunteer mode these days, I assume you're working registration there? If I'm running late, can you sign me up for both the class and open? Thanks.

Smell the glove...classic. What's wrong with being sexy?

Today at 7am, Emil "Uncle-Dude" Arndt lost his battle with liver and kidney Cancer. Some of you may have remembered Dude at the first Austin track and the Austin Wilwood track. With a Moto-x enthusist background he understood bmx and always offered his help building some of the tracks and helping build the sport for what it was. His son Kenny Arndt was a MN bmx pioneer and Dude was always there for support. God Bless you Uncle Dude and thank you for all the great times....because there were many!!!!!

Sorry to hear about Dude Arndt. He was a cool Dude ...I remember him bringing Kenny and his bud to the local Dubinski's sand pit BMX/MX course with the 125 mx'ers. Only the truly great dads do that kinda stuff...Dude was one of them for sure.

The only real regret I have is not being able to attend the Funeral or Wake next Tues/Wed. I'll be in Florida. I picked up Kenny Monday night (he flew in from LAX) and we made the mad dash in the rain down to Austin in time for Kenny to spend the last moments he could. I guess being part of that moment is enough closure for me.

Dude-RIP, you will seriously be missed. angel.png

Race fans,

I havn't posted in a while I have been pretty busy with the trackdaddy duties. I thought I would try to put up a quick note to let everyone know that the work going on at Rum River BMX - home of Land O'lakes Nationals is comming together. I am sending a few more photo's tomorrow to alltheracing.com as they are soo good at spreading the word. Remember when you want to know... it is the place to go.

In the mean time I hope this will wet your whistle and leave you craving more... Hope to see you all for the Star of the North and the State Qualifier and of course the big daddy of them all "Land O'lakes Nationals".

We had a fun night of racing last night at St. Michael running with DC & Bubba Pinsky Tufty (11 year old). This track has a very fast first straight that will sometime get you to brake check a bit before approaching the double. I have decided I need to take some time off to get my ribs to heal, I am way to achy and keep aggravating it.

I am really looking forward to the Cannon Falls race, that track sounds way stoke.

RFL on Friday & RLC on Saturday at St. Michael for those that are interested...
King of Pipeline
I was hoping someone on here went to Mankato and took some pics. Just wondering how the turnout was?

Cannon Falls is a must
Guy's looks like we have a great run in Cannon Falls for this weekend! I'm going to stay overnight at the track. Sand are you in for overnight as I'll P/U on the way down as you suggested. Paul, I'll be an early start as I'm going to get some air prior to race. Mark bring the shutter lence w/3x speed as this weekend will be mint in Cannon Falls! Do not miss this event. I know Vic from TX is in town and is participating and I have two guys that are semi old schoolers racing too. Top Shelf!
WBL BMXer - aka Chucky
Now I'm not sure where to go this weekend. I planned on going to St. Michael Friday & Saturday, but this epic gathering in Cannon Falls sounds like a can't miss event.

Shawn Sheely MN-1
Somebody say race?

Is there somewhere I can get info on the track? Status as to the weather and such? (didn't see anything about it on ATR). But I did see the time, where to sign up (in a van down by the river).

whats the cannon falls track look like?
Gary Walton
I talked the whole team out of the St. Michael weekend and we're heading to Cannon Falls tonight. I thought the youngsters needed to experience a little old school first hand. Or, maybe I'll just go fishing.

I can't believe my whole family is out of town for a week and I'm still checking the radar and looking for a place to race. DISEASED.
