I remember that they used to use VHT for stickiness on the concrete instead of Coke syrup, I think they quit using it because it got too expensive. VHT is the stuff they lay down on dragstrips for traction.

These were emailed my way by Mike Crepeau who raced back in the late 70's and early 80's
I do have to start with this one! This is Mike!

The rest I am not sure, but I am guessing Miland and Krone are in this one? Flying Cloud?

I couldn't help but notice our gate man in the photos. Bill Saucen, team-mate Jeremy's dad. Sadly, I found out this week that Bill has died. My sincerest condolences to Jeremy, Judy, and Brent. Bill had a disease called "Picks". Very sad, as he was the plus in A+ personalities.

Wow, that's terrible... If you see Jerm give him my condolences as well...

Races like this ^^was the real deal... DUG can have races like this if he built the track in the parking lot at Rehbein's...LOL!!
I still love the square trench dug for a water hole at the first Austin track and Big Willow...
Ted, I never had a Mullet... After the long hair I did the Sammy Hagar bowl cut (surf cut) and it wasn't working (Haahaaaa), my then gal pal hacked it all off very short (1991) and its been short ever since).

Another great day of racing at Rehbeins. There were only 16 moto's which seemed pretty light for a weekend before the Blue Springs National. In any case we had total points in 41-45.
Lance White (1-1-1)
Paul Springer (2-2-2)
Jim Nelson (3-3-3)
I expect I will see Mr. Christensen on Sunday. Someone at the track tonight said Dave & Jeff Moe got second place in St. Cloud in a three legged race or something?
BIG PROPS to Macy Eide who got her 8th first place win which moves her to 8 year old girl. I helped Macy get started early this Winter as a never ever racer. She wouldn't even do a gate and I slowly coaxed in to doing it! The Eide family is totally hooked on the sport and it has been awesome to see Macy grow! Congrats Macy...

This was very exciting and a great oppurtunity for the world to get a little example of what our sport is all about. I see this as a major bonus to launch our sport into the spotlight and become more popular. To have TV coverage on the number one morning show is pretty exciting to me, I guess I am just a glass half full kind of guy. I thought the "Joe Kid" movie parts were super cool...

KROTCH - They do not race in the rain anymore because tracks cost a lot more time and money then they did BITD. They are not built with shovels and rakes anymorem and if they did run in the mud, it would cost a money and hours of labor to get them back in shape for the next race, Most tracks do not have the money or help to do this.
The Olympics is going to boost this sport along and make it more mainstream. A couple Tracks have already confirmed that they have been getting calls about how to get involved just by that one little TV spot.
SO, feed baxter....ease down out of the attic....open the shades....read real (2008) BMX magazines....and come and get involved with everyone else this year... AND PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT PEOPLE ARE POSTING ON HERE DAMMMMMNNNIT!

Mikko, thanks for the flashback to last year. Yes, that was my first race back and I just had to try out the Redline again. That day at St. Michael was also the first day Russ came out to meet the group. Good thing Rod didn't scare him away.
