Anyone know if Rehbein's is being changed/worked on??? Looking at the calendar, its coming up in about 3 weeks. Man where does time go?? I can't believe Summer is gone.

Everybody would have loved the bunnyhop comp at the BBQ. Check out this picture I took..

KOP, your into the tail huh?

Time to change the direction of this thread.

More photos from Richfield. It was really hard to see all the details on these slides without a projector so I'm really excited to get these converted to prints.

Look at this surprise find. Not only do I have Boecker on his cruiser, but also this shot of him on his 20" GHP with a Richards behind him (Note the RBP jersey). I wonder why you didn't jump the doubles in that race Scott.

I'm #727 in second place. I wish I had that Hutch uniform.

How about this picture from G&M Raceway in Shakopee. Mr. Ayers on his #10 Hutch once again. Also, I see Sandberg on the 01 Hutch. Any idea who #1 is? Sheely maybe?

This is a cool shot. Notice the size of the jumps on this track. Not bad for BITD.

Chucky you literally have a magical photo vault, these shots rock. That indoor Shakpoee track looks pretty cool. I don't think that one guy is Sheely, he was skinnier I think. It is awsome to see hacksaw Boeckermiester. Hopefully his knee will mend soon and I hope he can at least come out and visit at Rehbeins. Get well soon brutha Boecker!

Went to the barn tonight. matt and dug have been busy. They have hauled in alot of clay from the old outdoor track. Sad to see that go. The first straight is simular to last year. Only much bigger obsticles. I packed it with my tractor and it is ready to ride.
King of Pipeline
Those are some really good photos. That Shokapee indoor... I remember that place.. I went there alot. I don't think I ever raced there, But I rememeber it well. Right across from Valleyfair... That was pretty cool for an indoor track.. Those indoor races are always great...

Look at that nose dive on that pic.. any of you guys get out of that one alive?

Request for Socko ( AKA. Egg plant ) drawing...
Jeff Manning
When did you take that pic of the back of my head KOP? Your funny. Remind me not to tip my barber next time..HaHa

Great pics Chucky! Keep them coming. I remember going to that track in Shakopee a few times in 84' with Hammer to watch a little. Never had the desire to race at all, but got back in the saddle for a few races in 85'.

That Mythbusters video is hilarious, I love that show, but I never saw that episode. Too funny..
scott Boecker
scott, Love the 20" picture of me in the GHP uniform , but thats not me !!! Thats Mr. fast John Sandberg !!! I think thats Rob Butterfield in second or its Gary mercado with Ted Richards in second. Can anyone help ???

Scott, I thought that looked like Sandberg too.

Great pics Chucky, I wish I had hung around for the 84 Season in that indoor track... Major cool!

Moe, Rehbein's sounds cool. I loved that first straight. I'm guessing there trying to slow it down a little?? How bout the 2nd straight?? My daughter keeps asking if the "hills" are smaller. LOL!
WBL BMXer - aka Chucky
Funny you guys should say that's Sandberg in the GHP uniform. I had a slide that said Sandberg, but I don't ever remember him on a GHP. My brother still has the slides so I thought that picture was you Scott. Fill me in on the GHP deal. Was that a co-factory sponsorship you guys had?
John Sandberg
Chucky: Thanks for posting those cool pix.

The GHP deal was free frame/forks (Boecker, I don't remember if we also got free cruisers???), team uni's and six truckloads of Muscle Power protein mix. Obviously, the protein helped Boecker out (albeit a couple decades later), but the only thing it firmed up for me was my turds.

Yep, co-factory, set up via Penn Cycle.

Whoever that is right behind me in the photo...they're about to wad up when they land on me. Ouch.

KOP: Thanks for posting the sock puppets.
John Sandberg
Chucky Part 2: That photo from G&M... Boecker is in the lead. #4 is Keith Christensen.
John Sandberg
Double post, so I'll take this time to tell you folks about the amazing muscle gain YOU can achieve with Muscle Power protein drink. It works for Greg Hill. It works for Scott Boecker. And it will work for you too.

Great pics Chuck-O-Potty!
WBL BMXer - aka Chucky
Thanks John. I don't ever remember you racing that GHP. Was that just a short term thing? To me, you were always the Hutch guy.

I just saw your post about the 1980 Hawaii national. Very cool! Some day I want to hear your stories.
John Sandberg
One season of GHP (summer of 1984, I think). The air was coming out of my tires at a good rate by then, so I didn't race a ton. At the end of the season, I sold my cruiser to some guy for $175 (complete bike) and my 20-in. to Steve Redelsperger for $300, so I could buy a Polaris Indy 400.

My fondest memories of GHP days were when Boecker and I would do weight workouts at a gym in Bloomington. I probably benched three times then what I'm capable of now. Boecker, on the other hand...
B. Apold
Boecker has a "Family Tradition" shall we say of weight lifting. Uncle John Stevens pictured a few pages back got the ball rolling and I believe was a heavy influence to Scott. John was REALLY cutt and total body builder material. I'm sure Scott could bench 1/4 ton at certain points.

John, sounds like the GHP thing was just like my GT Factory Support thing, without the protein overload.. LOL!! Free frame/fork, pants, jersey and enough GT stickers to cover my bed room wall... and I did.
Like Sheely, him and I were on the Co-Factory team and that for me, lasted about 2 weeks because Gary Turner had to dump everyone to pay Greg Hill at the end of the year... LOL!!!! So I got a jersey and then Pat/Dan from Rydjor got a phone call.

John Stevens had a little "help" in the bulking up department. If you know what I mean. He quit lifting when he started having major back issues.

I just talked to Russ Stevens, John's little brother, on the phone a few weeks ago.
Rydjors Dark Sider Black Sheep 1%'r
Nice to see you on here Justin. I remember once Scott B was babysitting Lil Russ "dooby" Stevens back in the summer of 1984. A few of us ex BMxr's went by and hung out with Scott and "lil doob- Except I of course drank maybe a few too many Hauenstein cans worth and blacked out. I could of been such a bad influence on Scott B if only he was corruptible.-Now Lil' Russ Stevens?- Thank god Justin-his best friend has always been a "good guy".

John was really into the sport....Nuff said.

I was in the Stevens living room the day they brought little Doobs home from the Hospital. I spent allot of time with John and Al. They probably didn't want me around because I was so much younger. We had fun though. The wrestling matches between John, Al and Mark Pesanone were monumental... I was the ref until John noticed I was having to much fun and no pain, then full nelson to the ground I went... Haahaahahahaaa

Still love to sport the GHP uniform, and still fits prefact !!!

and still getting air !!!

B. Apold
Great photo man! I love that shot. I think that's John and Doug behind ya there.??

John or Scott- What was the Cycle Pro on the top of the jersey's all about? I notice the GHP "cycle pro" on the sleve as well. Any ideas? To me Cycle Pro was the aluminum frames AKA- Race, Inc/FMF frame from the 70's

I wanna see Boecker and Russ wrestle on the 1st jump at the Barn at the end of the month
mikkopeters
I'd pay to see that!

Manning, is the Hammer going to be at the Grand Opening?
B. Apold
I"m taking Manning down
mikkopeters
I don't know about that BA. He's getting back down to his fighting weight. He's also been training with a steak tied to bike and letting a pack of wild dogs chase him.
scott Boecker
The big barn grand opening is 2 weeks away and I can't wait 2 get some riding in. I really miss everyone coming up on fridays 4 practice. A little riding and alot of BSing.
B. Apold
No kidding! I'm looking forward to it as well Scott. I got the bike all shined up ready to fall over the gate a few more times.. LOL!
John Sandberg
Brad: Cycle Pro refered to what our ultimate goal was...the reason we drank Muscle Power (and raw eggs) with every meal...and the mantra we mindlessly repeated while running stairs (just as we saw Greg Hill do in BMXA).

I think it was also a distributor for GHP.

Photo love from, I think, Brooklyn Park (track #2). Tom Erickson is #28. Who else?
scott Boecker
Brad , I have no idea whats up with cycle pro , maybe they make the GHP frames and forks. I'm sure john can tell us !!!

Mark , No wrestling 4 me , specially with someone named RUSS !!!

Mike and Jeff , Hope 2 see u guys on the track this winter at the barn.
scott Boecker
Opps double post !!!

Right on Scott, it will be good to see you again/bs a bit. My Floval is almost complete, I need some washers and different bars for it but I found a box of goodies for it last week. It will be fun to head up there this winter, it would be my first time on a sanctioned track!
I am interested what that first straight will look like after the revamp, that was cool to see you and BA hit that double/step when you were on the gas.
Rod Byrnes
When can we get some practice in at the Barn?? I'm looking forward to this event.

What MC is really trying to say is " I like to watch grown men wrestle.

Brad- I have to learn how to ride my bike again before you can take me out. You might have to do it on the 2nd lap though, you would be catching up to me on my 1st lap..HaHa
Tom Erickson
John, that picture from Brooklyn Park #2 is definetly me but I don't remember ever racing you except for Open. I also don't remember being #28 with a Zeronine plate but my memory isn't too sharp. Do you have a date for this race? Must have been 1982 or 1983.

Thanks for posting.

I believe #28 is Sean Nobel. I don't remember Erickson with Zero-nine pants, he alway wore JTs.

That was 1983, so everyones number changed alot.

You were already Pro by then Tom. Right? I'm probably wrong.

Great pic of John. That was also 84? Looks like it and I wasn't around when John was Hutch'd. Cool bike too! Looks Like Jeff's last hutch mins the front brake.
Rydjors Dark Sider Black Sheep 1%'r
Shawn NOble raced in 1983? didnt know that. I never saw him around in 1983. here's a challenge- lets see the EARLIEST Minnesota BMX photo we have around. Who lays claim to the earliest????
King of Pipeline
Talk about old school.....
J Ayers
Brooklyn Park #2

#72 Dave Matthews??
Tom Erickson
Yes I was Pro in 1982. I ran #26 before turning pro and I always wore JT pants and Haro plates. Sean Nobles sure looks a lot like me with the JT mouth guard and BJs jersey. He even has a GT too. I was #429 as a Pro until 1983 when I ran #50 (State points) or #188 (National Pro Standing). I also don't remember John being Hutched. As I stated my memory is not too sharp from those days.

Hey KOP, who is the new girl, is that your mom?
