I decided to take a 1/2 day off and head up to the indoor go-kart track, look who I ran in to!

Let me guess, your sister took the picture. tongue.gif Team Subi!!!

Were there any other moto pro's there? Is he running the Super-x tomorrow night? He's like Super man, he's everywhere.
King of Pipeline
Wow, that dude is like famous.. Very famous... That is cool.........
WBL BMXer - aka Chucky
Cool picture Pauli.

Practice night was awesome last night. Funny moment when Moe came up to the gate and said "Sandberg & Christensen are here". Hearing that statement was like old times, including the cold sweats. laugh.gif Dave is still resting his back injury so he didn't ride, but was taking pictures & video. It was a blast chatting with Moe, Bill Sympson, John & Dave.

One of the best moments was when John's daughter decided to ride the track. In typical Sandberg style she made it over all the obstacles on her first try. Way to go! Everyone was cheering her on when she did her hot laps. It was very cool to see.

After an evening at the barn, I notice why John is still way fast!

LMAO, after the Morning I've had already I really needed that Dave. Sand is still way fast.

Since I'm riding 20" now, can I race the Condo with that bike? tongue.gif

I just read the fine print on the book... OMG that's funny. (Cough)
John Sandberg
As all the parents here know...seeing your own child ride the track for the first time is thrilling, scary, heartwarming and gratifying in a way that's tough to explain.

Hearing everyones' encouragement of Jo Jo last night -- when she was riding and after she got up from her crash -- was awesome. Thanks.

And as always, it was great to ride and catch up with everyone last night. The greatest people ride BMX.
Paul Springer
I don't know why they are so tough on you John, that is just down right mean, those bullies.

I absolutely love seeing and hearing about runs like Jo Jo had, it is way cool. stuff.

Rrrreeeeaaaallll FUNNY there
Paul Springer
That is funny, that is reeeeal funny... How are Buck & Bucky doing? I bet they are starting to get bigger. So now how many fainters do you have coming here in the Spring?
WBL BMXer - aka Chucky
For the guys that went to the supercross race, what did you think of the local boy finishing second? I watched the main last night and it looked pretty good.

Mr Ryan Dungey does pretty good huh? Its nice to see a MN guy do well after the late great Donny "Peanut" Schmidt (RIP). What a great althlete he was, and well, the best at riding MX too.

The standings are a bit stird up since James Stewart bowed out after the knee injury. He was IMO clearly the man, minus when Ricky decides to race for the hell of it and still walks on 99% of the class.

Cool to see that old video, you must have a sharp eye Mark - I can't tell who's who though. If you're thinking that's me with the #2 - that's not me, I didn't run #2 and GT until the next year. It was actually at that race that Gary Turner first took notice and gave me a ride. I was wearing my Torker Uni at that race.

Sandberg had the sharp eye and directed me in the thought of that being you. Does look like you though
John Sandberg
Shawn, isn't that you in the same moto as Dave, at 1:04?
Guest200901
I never had a magical $$$ goal with Russ & Nacy's fundraiser, but seeing that it has gone better then I thought, it would be great to hit the $1000.00 mark! It's currently at $775.00

LINK INFO HERE

I am still working out the details for a fun night event at the Barn. Hopefully I'll have that finalized in a few days
Paul Springer
Awesome, Russ & Nancy are great people! It was a great idea to pull this together for them. I look forward to having a Spring gathering especially for a good cause. Giddy up...

Nope, but I as I look at it again

I think that may be me in the moto right before that - Dave Marietta (sp) Torker, and Rod Beckering were in my moto - that should be me in yellow.

It would be cool to see the original video, before the YouTube crunching.

Long Beach, good times...
WBL BMXer - aka Chucky
That's a great video. I love all the pedalling.
Shawn Sheely MN-1
Compared to this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6F4UxPV1xPY

It's a whole different world out there now, these guys pedal a lot too.

What I don't understand is why a 2 or 3 speed setup hasn't caught on - especially with those huge downhill starting gates they're using for SuperCross now.
Shawn Sheely MN-1
Oh, I almost forgot - picked this up on Ebay last month:

You can see more about it here:

It's a 64 Mattel Bronco, the first BMX bike? Maybe, but it's going to make a nice derby bike once it get the shocks from my RD350 mounted up.

I don't think you'd have enough time to really use speeds. One more thing to go wrong, those riders are probably going fast enough for the course. I'd say those are the basic reasons.

Friday April 4th is going to be the fundraising event for Nancy & Russ.

So far the events are going to be:

- Pit Bike Race (2 groups all ages)

- Pit Bike Race (Old Schooler's Only)

- "One" Old School Class ( ride whatever you want )

- A Game of "Nudge" (thats what you newer old schooler's call "foot down)

- 100% of all entry fee's are going towards Nancy's fund

- 100% of all hotdog sales are being given back Sponsored by my wonderful Mother(hotdogs) and also Pepperidge Farms (buns)

- Possibly a silent auction with parts etc. that are donated

- Entry Fees and details to be announced

Keep in mind this is all to "have fun" and "raise money to help friends"

MORE details to come

.
B. Apold
Sounds like fun. I'm in.

Nudge? Last time I played that game (MN faction) I used the 82 GT. That certainly won't be a repeat.

Listen to you... You'll always be the 17x over man to beat. I recently started running a 20" (LOL), I get totally schooled by the 17x and over guys. Of course, I was never afraid of learning from someone better. (Cough!)

Please keep Paul Cater in your thoughts & prayers...

Last night at Rehbeins practice Paul went down pretty hard right before the approach to the triple. I spoke with his wife Toni this morning and Paul is currently in Mercy Hospital, he was brought there by ambulance from Rehbeins. After speaking with Toni she shared that Paul broke 8 ribs, broke his collar bone and has some bleeding around one of his lungs. They did also check his head & neck and found everything to be fine. He will be laid up at Mercy Hospital for a few days and is in a great deal of pain.

Toni wanted to send out a BIG thank you to Jeff Kraker (Scott Kraker's brother) for helping Paul after getting injured. From what I heard Paul went over the bars and went down on his side. He was knocked unconsious for about 30 seconds and then came to. Paul tried to get up and went down again. (Why does this sound so familiar?)

Please keep the Cater family in your thoughts and prayers and heal fast Paul Cater!
Jeff Manning
Wow, thats really sad to hear. Man, that is scary news. While reading that my eyes got big and my heart just sunk.

Get well soon Paul..My prayers go out to you!
B. Apold
Agree, its so terrible. This sport brings out so much fun and enjoyment, however its things like this and put everything in perspective... Get well Paul, were all pull'n for ya.

She sits rear wheeless in the garage, waiting for me to return.
I looked at her daughter Peglette last night. You heard that Ditch found a 20" three bar for me, right?
