Thanks Jeffrey-
Haahaaahaaa, Oh Sean!
Ted Carl will school us later I'm sure. I only raced Shorewood 3 or 4 times and never had any luck at that place. It was always down pouring when I raced there, except for the picture you posted, and then Sandberg dropped the Tahoe bomb on all of us that day..
RL, I gotz Aggie's too. Mike gave me his bike after I ran him over going 3 wide over the finish line with Albert Delgado.. I got second, but I was probably in 3rd place because the finish was on a corner and I was outside line.. I ran him over and heard this "UFFFFF".
I still have Eddy's pad. Wanna buy it? 4000.00

sean, good work.
the only reason i thought maybe, was his bike was chrome and blue too, and he was a torker dude so i figured with the yellow jersey.
gee, i guess i could send over the northstar pics to you again, since we have to rebuild this thing.

Rick, send'm!!! I think you had some of you with kick'n some Austin butt too. I don't remember the track... Haahaahaa. Hey, were all far from perfect.
Sean, Being a Tahoe sponsored rider I see you in more non Tahoe jersey's. Jack's lurking

After a long frustrating search, I finally found my old pictures and slides. Not a ton, but some cool shots. I'm so excited, I'm shaking as I write this. I'm scanning pictures now, so I will post soon.
How do you convert color slides so you can post them? Help!

No time now, but I'll help ya on those after a bit. They are Shorewood from a funny angle. Standing between turn 2 and 3, camera facing paralell to the starting hill looking at the woods, (that is turn 2 in the pix), which was between turn 1 and 2.
That would be jump 3, which was a camel back at that time.
I had to have it explained to me as well at first. The the light came on...

Ok, quick story (don’t want to disrupt the flow here)
So I am camping in a tent “right now†(have that air card internet thingy, which sux) in Taylor’s Falls and am going to Isanti tomorrow. So, the next door campers kids go to bed, then the parents start drinkin’….now they are talking all eeeewww lovey dovey like. Not an attractive couple (kinda like two Paul’s gittin’ up in the morning with sleep hair) “Not that there is anything wrong with that…†anyway, so they are popin beer cans open left and right (faster then Braaaaad can clean a bike) THEN they start singin’ love songs to each other (kinda like Theo yelling at me for being a hack…???) Now it’s starting to get quiet other than some low tone sounds loud drunkin’ slurring… Ear plugs and a coat over my head should stop me from having to explain the rest of the night…eeeww
Carry on…just sharing…

Okay, the next two photos are the only good photos I have of me racing. This is from my second year ('84) at Eden Prairie. I remember this day because it had rained a lot overnight and I told my dad I didn't want to race in the mud. It was windy in the morning and my dad said it would probably be drying out nicely, so lets go. I didn't bring my Hutch gear, so I raced in jeans and a sweatshirt. I don't know what it was but I was on fire that day winning both class and open (you fast guys didn't show).
Moto 1 (class) - I'm #55

Main (class) - check out the lead

I loved that EP track. For some reason, I could really fly down that long first straight spinning 44/17 (favorite gear BITD).

Ted, thanks for clearing that up.
Sean- the only reason I knew that was Shorewood is because that pics was posted before and Ted said it was SW.
WBL, great pics. Eden Prairie was another track I didn't race much. In fact Richfield, samething. There were so many races down south I didn't have to drive that way.

Yeah, we missed the usual characters at the BBQ. The BBQ brought out some new faces that I hope will make there way to the Barn for the last OS/NS event.
Jeff, what about Doug's crash in the skid competition? The Hammer goes hard no matter what it is. Fun guy to have around. Next time, don't listen to anyone and bring all your stuff.

My brother is starting to get my slides converted to pictures and this is the one I've been waiting for. First thing that amazed me was that I had written Scott Boecker's name on the slide. Secondly, Scott's racing his GHP 24, which reminded me of his photo from the barn wearing the same uniform 23 years later. Then to top it off, the dude in second, Jeff Ayers, shows up at the BBQ this weekend with the Hutch he's racing. Crazy!
Close up of Scott & Jeff racing in the main at Richfield in '84 (questions: why is Jeff wearing Butterfield's jersey & who is the Schwinn guy?)

As long as were on a Boecker subject, here is one of Scott far left leaning on the gate. I think he's about 10yrs old in this picture...
John Stevens (Scott's uncle) is #3 on the beautiful tan SE JU-6 bike....Notice the round top tube....F'n RARE!!!!! BTW, John Stevens is one of the founding bmx members from Minnesota. He started the sametime Mark, Sean and myself in 1975 in Austin. John also has a half Brother named Al Steven's that started at the sametime.

Scott B, was his name Mark Nash? Mark was deaf, but I didn't remember him racing a cruiser.
Do you remember that race? I was thinking it was part of the state championship weekend based on the other photos I have (to be posted soon), but the crowd doesn't look that big. If I'm thinking right, the cruisers ran last and everyone had to get to Shorewood for the second race that day. Maybe that's why the crowd is thin.
You would have loved seeing Jeff Ayers' Hutch. Like Rick said, it looked just like you took it off that picture.

Haaahaaaaa, Scott the first time I rode that CYC Ames after racing the Scrambler, it was like, OMG, know wonder I get beat... LOL!!! Actually I did pretty good on the Schwinn, but it was just such a techology eye opener for me. My Scramber weighed about 40lbs and the Ames was 17lbs. Insane difference.
Here is the day I brought it home. The bike came with all blue stuff from the factory and I switched it over to red. Wish I would have left it blue.. I still have the red Stormer pad..

Next year we'll either be at Shantytown Grill (2 minutes from the park) or our place (6 min) for an after party BBQ/party. I would have to have some Premium for all. I am liking the backyard BBQ idea.
