Funny you say that Jeff, Doug was wearing that the last time I was over there for beers. He was like "Jeff tells me he wants this back! Ha!" Just kidding...

Quit teasing me.. angry.gif

I just looked at my list, of magazines.. It appears I do only have one of those magazines.. Your in there?

Do I have that mag? Who do you think I am? Of course I do.. I have a few. That is one of the most wanted BMX issues in existance.. Just for that cover....
I also acquired a new bike today. I traded one of my new Haro's for this older Haro... If MC drives to Waseca, I'll let him have it for his birthday.. But you have to bring a pizza too...

Want to sell that magazine? I think I'm in the centerfold playing caboose.. smile.gif

I'm a bit confused here....If I drive to Waseca...with a pizza....I get the Old HARO? The Old Magazine? or get to watch Jeff doing a photo shoot for a centerfold while playing caboose? CHOO-CHOO!!!!

Not sure what I would choose, possibly I would just pull over and eat the pizza and go home, cuz it sounds to me like "Come here little boy, I have some candy for you"
J.T.
Do you want one with R.L. Osborn's signature???

mikkopeters
That pic was staged, correct JT?
And that is your OG issue too... how much is it going for?

Well no sheeit shurlock, do ya the think ALL WHITE ROOMS with two guys riding on their number plates is a common everyday thing!
Guest200901
BTW, thanks for the the birthday cheer! (except for Springer's)
J.T.
Yes, B-day boy is correct. Pat Romano influence which 20 years later became a common place trick in Freestyle with a freewheel, not direct drive.

Yes, I have ALL my orginal magazines and copies. Manning you can contact me offline.

Happy Birthday Mark wink.gif

PULL MY FINGER!

Mikko - Coke Machine = Dale Mattson if I remember right.
DitchWeed
Hellz yeah!

That was the first mag I ever bought BITD!

RL's on a Murray in that pic too, isnt he?
mikkopeters
More like "Smell my finger"!

I mean staged as in they never rode an inch with or without direct drive, not if this was taken in a studio. rolleyes.gif I heard they were held up, released and the shot was taken.
King of Pipeline
I remember when Trevor Meyer had direct drive on his bike. He could pull the bike up in that position and ride. It looked so funny. I went up to the cities to watch him ride one day, and would ride across the parking lot like that,, even backwards. And pulled out of it, cool as ice.. You can tell Buff is about to fall.. he's leaning.. I can only imagine, how long it took to get that perfect pic...
DitchWeed
I'd say staged, simply because you NEVER saw them do this trick ever again...i.e. they couldnt actually pull it.

But who knows..
J.T.
Speaking of Dale Matson, I posted this for Ron Wilkerson's B-day...unless it is a different Dale Matson?

I used to have a copy of that magazine, but my Ex-wife conveniently misplaced all the magazines/newspapers I was in. Divorce sure is fun.. ph34r.gif

Wasn't Spike on tour with them only in 86? I met them at Wheel Sports that July. Anyway, cool MN pic.

Coke Machine- need more data.

I look at it as getting a free X-box. The big box with all the eX pix, and stuff you never want to look at again.

Jeremy asked me if we could get an X box once upon a time. You should have seen his face when I told him we already have 3 of them! .... ph34r.gif laugh.gif tongue.gif

Yo...Snoopy! Mr Bill....WDS

Ted, your avatar is very fitting. You sly dog.
I'll admit that I haven't exactly been advertising the frames outside of this topic.
I'll throw some of the other pics up.
Oh- brought the Race frame down to One on One last weekend, we did some measurements. Turns out the rear end is pinched together by about 5mm and has a bit of a bend to the left.
Bummer.

Anyone recognize these MN BMXer names?
Chris Bowman (not the figure skater that went to the ice rink in the sky)- I went to college w/ him, he was from Shakopee if I remember right. Graduated HS in '85
Todd Weller- he's a plumber now, we talked BMX as we worked in my basement- maybe from Wayzata, probably graduated HS in '84
Mark Conley- graduated HS in 1937, lives in SPAMTOWN, drinks box wine, had the first BMX bike in MN made of gas pipe and rebar smile.gif
jbl
are any of you minnesota guys from plymouth,mn in the late 70's early 80's?

That is exactly where and when I lived BMX. I mostly hung out at the pits north of Oakwood Elementary (6 & 101). I rolled with Bill Souza, Todd Hareldson, Mike Bartus, Nick Anderson, Jay Settegren, Jeff Vorhes, Chris Young, Barry Balzer, Tom Lowgreen, Eric Levander and many more... I lived between Dunkirk and 101 on the 26th block in Shiloh neighborhood.

JBL, what's your bmx history?

Looking Over the Fence ☺

I'm glad you asked about Stewart? I to have sleepless nights thinking what happened to Stewart? I saw him on TV working the Iowa caucus for Hillary™. Wagon rides available what is the schedule?

I did find Stewart's hat though!

Fun night of racing tonight at REHBEINS. I decided to sign up and take it easy because of my shoulder seperation. In 41-45 Cruiser we had Bill Nelson, Dave Christianson, Gary Walton & myself. We ran hard, qualifications went Walton, Nelson, Christianson so I watched the main. The main went Walton, Nelson & Christianson. I was happy to be back but my time off sure has caught up with me, slow going.

Scott Kraker was there racing 36-40 Cruiser running with Brian Malarski & Holly Eide. Scott won his total point race with a 1-1-1.

The 2008 season has officially kicked off and it is going to be awesome. ALL THE RACING Team is finalizing their uniforms and we are almost complete and ready to rock & roll.

Bill Nelson made it out of hiding? Where was he last weekend?
WBL BMXer - aka Chucky
Saturday was really fun. I wish I could have been racing in that 41-45 class, but it was fun watching. The first moto was interesting. DC was sitting in second behind Gary coming out of turn one, but he must have thought Boecker's line off the side of the double was the preferred line because he did exactly the same thing. Doug is planning on adding those bowling alley bumpers for the old guy classes. laugh.gif

Springer, you're looking pretty good out there for a guy with a bad arm. Thanks for pulling all the gear together Saturday night.

MC, the printing looks great. It will be great seeing that sea of blue at the track this year.

Wow Good Time @ the Barn! Mark & Paul, threads are great, Calvin got home and was running around the house w/everything on. Paul I’m going to take you up the jersey I bought for Rachel on printing/name transfer on the back. She was just as excited as Calvin. Next summer watch out! Rachel addition to D.C.’s BMX clan. Well, when Paul’s shoulder’s back in place, looks like I’ll be the sweeper for this crew! I better start pedaling. How about that main bookends Gary to left, Bill to the right w/Bill and the broomsticks added to bar ends, wide& glide, with 203mm cranks ~ coming through!! G.W. you got some steam! It was great!
