Looks a bit like a Schwinn.

I'm guessing Schwinn too! I had a scrambler that looked JUST like that ... but with a gusset.

Yep, that's an 83 Schwinn Predator.

I was told that "G" in the serial # means Giant made. Is that right? These things pop up all over the world as different frames.

With a riveted headtube badge?
Predators, IIRC, were just flared at the tube junction, not all the way like that. I THINK.
What ELF DUDE might be talking about is Beacon bikes. The Beacon King Cobra had the floval tube like that and maybe an ovalized top tube as well.
A lot of those Akisu-made aero frames look like that one. Same predator-esque drops and all.

Predator, DAMNIT, I meant to say Predator. Either way, thats what it is.

Must have been in between the gusseted one, and the later bi/tri-oval ones.
What kind of decals did those come with?
Yeah, now that i look again, that's definitely a Schwinn-lookin' serial number.
I don't remember seeing any BITD like that though!
Oh, and i don't think those are the OG forks...but you probably knew that already.
That is a nice find, by the way! I'd have grabbed it too!

this looks like it might be it.

A Predator would not have the rivet holes on the headtube. Also the forks aren't correct for a Predator with the angle cut like that.

Not a Predator like the last picture^^^
but MAYBE I'm thinking something earlier than that. The Schwinn head badge maybe?
If it isn't Schwinn, it likely came from the Akisu or Tange factories, or whichever one the overseas Predator frames came from.

It's not a Schwinn but it was made by Giant, it may be the exact same frame(except for the downtube) but there were no rivets or holes side by side on any Schwinn made in the early/mid 80s.

Could this be a Vista like the cruiser in this thread?

Like a Beacon King Cobra? Hmmm...maybe. I thought the DT on those was more teardrop? Been a while.
That's a possibility though.

I have an old school Beacon King Cobra in GREAT condition. Anyone know what year(s) these were made, how rare are they and are they worth anything? I have uploaded some pics. Brett 714-713-6556 brettbaugh@cox.net

They're pretty rare and actually well-made, however because they're not one of the popular high-end "name brands" (Hutch, GT, CW, etc etc) you'll probably only get top dollar from someone who had one back in the day and wants to relive that.
Let's see those pics!

I was going to say Cycle Pro Bonsai. However the rear drop is not the same.

Giant made some/most of the predators....lol this is some funny stuff here it could be one of a dozen frames from that era though with the headbadge rivites, no stickers, no way to identify it other than it is old.
