anybody got any pics from this race?

Scott, did we go to that race together? I remember JV and Randy T (it was the one where the mains were run in the parking lot behind Goldblatt's, due to the rain and subsequent tornado, right?)

Also remember rolling up on Ronnie and Richie on I-57 and saying "Did you see the tornado?"

Ronnie thought we were saying "do you have a Ford?" Finally he said "F this, I can't hear you!" and floored it.

That's a cool artifact Damon!

I have one of those bandana's. Posted it a few years ago. They are real cool to look at.

Bob Poffinbarger
Mike,
you admit to hanging out with Mr. JV. I would incriminate myself like that. hahaha

That is classic!

It was 1983. I was told to stay at the office that weekend to work on the next issue of ABA Action. But when Warne did the artwork for the bandana...he added me on the right hand border. That's me with the afro and Denny Griffiths next to me with the camera.

I still don't know which was worse, staying in the office all weekend on deadlines, or being there in Illinois at the "Tornado National".

There weren't any results...THERE WAS A TORNADO!!!
hahaha

I think the bandanas were sent as a consolation along with a refund for the race.
