Stopped into a bike shop the other day. I asked the owner if he had any 80's stuff. He said he had some stuff but he was keeping. Then he proceeds to tell me that he has been offered 1000.00 from guys just to look in his backroom. After that he talks about his Hanebrink Hutch HPV or GPV one of only two in the US worth over 20,000.00 but he will sell it for 18,000.

Yeah, you will run into those guys .
I was just down in south fla raiding a couple of shops. Scored some sweet things . The shop owner was cool. Left me in the back room for well over an hour by myself. But I have also been in some shops where you were treated like a tomb raider.

John,
Can I borrow $18,000, please. haha.
I'd have offered a dollar to peek in for two seconds..... just to see what he said.
Later,

I just saw that... I'll check the calender at lunch to see what's planned that weekend. But I'd really like to. I'll let you know later today.
I need to get to the track at least once this year. This would be a great excuse, with other vintage guys there.

SVT and dayride,
I think the Heer Park event looks cool.
I sent a note to Dave Murray to inquire about more specifics. I'd love to race if my ankle is ready to go, but I plan to be there to take a look, bring some bikes, and probably some things to sell.

There's one down here I keep going to, and no one really knows what the guy's really got---it just keeps showing up in the shop. He has a lot of stuff in storage, like complete bikes---just things like Wind Stylers, Decades, things like that but he wants a bunch of $$$ for them. It's neat though 'cause how often can you SEE stuff like that, 20 year old bikes in the box. I still get deals once in a while, mostly on parts. I like to show up once every few weeks or so just to chat and take a peek, and I'm about to buy a new Cannondale MTB from him.
Unfortunately, he knows what old BMX stuff is going for, and then some...but it's still neat to look!
