Checking the bay for a new set of pedals, I came across a set of Profile pedals with a staggering price tag.. or at least my shallow pockets thnk so.

Since there is such a high bid and I'm not "outing a deal" I thought I could get some input here.

Are these great pedals? Just rare, or what?

Thanks

All of the above - Rare first, cool second.

About as rare as Vato's SSTs.....

Very cool and rare pedals and it seems alot of people are building PROFILEs lately.
I had 3 sets myself!!!

oh Snap...I like that yellow!

Wow Rodney. I didn't know you had such a killer Profile collection!..

That yellow is crazy too for sure.
AndyDiamond
Rodney - post your Taiwan knock-off garbage somewhere else - lol
AndyDiamond
...um so are you still building that 24"?

Gonna put the Profile pedals on it?

Can you put the black Profile spider on it - petty please!

yeah, the Horseshoes are a true holy grail for many collectors. Especially Profile guys. I went back and forth about getting some for my Champ Pro replica and decided against it.

Honestly, for two reasons.

1) natch, the price. Though I could have afforded some, and the build was worthy.

2a) the finish just wouldn't have filled the bill. Maybe a custom finish for the build, since I took a liberty or two anyway. But:

2b) I just couldn't bring myself to refinish such a rare and almost impossible to find component.

and to Vato, I hate you. I hate you the way, as a lifelong drummer, I hate Neil Peart.

At least until you leave me those pedals, the lockjaw, and the hubs in your will. Then I'll like you!
VATO
Andy,
I am still building the 24" Profile, this one is one of 2 that I have. The other one will be SICK!!!

The only non silver Profile spider I've seen in a long while - I assume it's original black anno?
VATO
I bought it from a friend and it was NOS except it is not ano!!! and its a 130mm
Keep_It_Warm
the black spider is paint? Or powder?
AndyDiamond
Ahhh - did the black ones come anno or paint?

Vato, You are a cold man......
Why would you tease us like that.
I did not know that much profile stuff even exsited,
let alone at one persons home....
Thats just wrong......
Very very nice.....
VATO
The black one I have looks like paint.
TONE
i had a pair of profile pedals (well used)

i actually found a used national pro locally for sale years and years ago.

if memory serves me i think i gave the guy 200 bucks. i wasnt all that stoked about the bike itself. i was more interested in the pedals.

they are very, very rare. i was just happy to have these totalled used ones. and i dont normally buy non nos items.

cool to see them on ebay.

heres a pix of my crappy ones. ya gotta scout to find em.

AndyDiamond
lol - "where's Waldo?"
Curt
Tone,

That is somehow wrong, in a good way of course.

Wow!!, That is a sweet yellow Profile!! The white one Has many color options I see.I Have 2 NOS black spiders, and one used, and they are all ANO.Ive been working on this prototype cruiser for a few months now. Here it is the first night I got it from X profile racer ,BIG JOHN TURNER.I'm currently polishing the profile hubs, matching crank will be here next week. Now I need bars, and a neck??Check out the extra support bars in the rear, Cool story behind this bike with no serial number.I can see I really got my work cut out for me to even be in the same ZIP. as those sweet rides!!
Alan McCorkle
i imagine the cast magnesium Profile horseshoe pedals are even more rare. If i recall, Jay Stark has a set on his Profile Champ Pro.

I seriously dig that black/silver HOT PLATE that oldracer posted.
