QuicksilverBMX
BITD when I got my first bmx (the Quicksilver I still own) we bought it off a neighbourhood kid who used the money to buy a Redline Proline f/f set. He pretty much saved up and bought everything he needed for the build. He was 7 years older than me and like a big brother and I fell in love with his finished Proline. He raced at my local track and I used to watch every race on that bike. Anyway, when he moved out of home he left the bike atr his dads and I could still see it every now and then which was cool. Then sadly some years later he died of a heart attack aged 37 (he was fit and never smoke or drank so it was a total shock) and not long after his dad died of a heart attack too. I never knew what happened to the bike so I decided to build a replica of what he built. The only thing I changed was the Brute stem instead of an MX-2 stem and Flight cranks as opposed to takagi one piece, everthing else is the same from what I remember ( I had no photos to go off) Sorry for the long story and here is some photos but I will get some better one soon.

It's about conjuring sprits through memories sometimes. Great build. Great story.

Well done Reece. Whilst some of my riding buddies have had their ups and downs, fortunately I think I can say they are all still around.

Wow, that is really nice. Very impressive and thanks for sharing your story, good stuff!

By the way, where the bike is standing in the first pic (just where the start line is) is about where he was standing that day back in 1981, its the same track in both photos

Nice job Reece, cool to hear.

Although shouldn't he have had a GT? hehe

Thats a nice story Reece & a great tribute to someone whom you respected. The proline looks nice & nothing beats a photo of an old school bike being taken at the track.

hey Reece that is such a nice bike, never thought of white and yellow. Perfect pics at the track too.

BEUTIFUL!
