Yep, I was riding pretty hard and jumping a bit with some kids in the area. Pretty simple peddal slip. When I recovered, somehow or another, my right ankle hit the back side of my front sprocket and laid my ankle wide open. The bone was exposed and it took a number of stitches to fix it up.
My wife reminded me I am 37, not 17!

Knarly man. At least you'll have a cool scar out of it. Hope it heals up quick.

we all have those scars, from 20 years ago. Keep rip'n it up for all us old guys. I hope you didn't cry in front of the kids.

No crying at all.
In fact, one of the kids, said "Too bad, man, you were jammin"
I will say, once my wife picked my up and we were on our way to the ER, it really started to hurt.

Ouch, Chris that looks scary. Let's turn this thread into a freak show. Last summer I raced in an old school veterans cup in Germany after 20 years of non riding BMX anymore. I just came out of the first steep turn when I crashed at a small bump and tried to catch the fall with my left foot. As a result my heel bone was broken several times and had to be fixed with a metal plate and ten screws:

I was able to walk some steps without crutches only four month later and after another six month the metal was removed:

Meanwhile I'm fine again and this scar is the only thing that's left after one year:

Next veterans cup will be in a couple of weeks, let's see how it goes...

Rick, excellent!
Invisible, yes, a 16 year old kid told me I was jammin. I don't know that I was jammin - getting gnarly maybe, but not jammin.
