Full Version: DG 26" Cruiser Survivor

Ken Pliska

Picked this up tonight in a third party transaction with a friend of mine from the original owner.

Interesting history on this as it was purchased at BMX Pro Shop in Aloha, the first BMX only shop around that was owned by Noel Grossman (my team manager at UNI and the father of JMC's Lisa Grossman whom I still see socially on occasion). The original owner was telling us tonight that he planned on racing it when he bought it, but never got around to it so this never had any track time and was just used to tool around the neighborhood.

The original owner sold it to a friend of his BITD and the friend was going to make payments on it. Well, that friend never made any payments, so after a year, the original owner took back the bike. At that time, the grips and seat (and possibly pedals and cranks he just couldn't remember) were replaced with other parts (and the seat has been replaced yet again).

It is pretty clean for a 28+ year old bike that was still in use when I picked it up tonight. I have not yet started to clean it up, but the frame looks like it will clean up really well and all of the OG decals are still intact and in place.

The huge 26X2.125 Cycle Pro Snake Belly Tires are still in great shape and after shooting these photos, I took it for a late night cruise through my neighborhood.

Pretty cool parts list on this:

Great bike, but it's still weird DG reverted to the old gusset logo 3 years after leaving it on 20" bikes.
