Does anyone out there own one of these rare items? I'm keen to see any examples. I've always wondered wether anyone has one.
caferacer
Yep had one since new and still have it.
pquinnbmx
must be pr200 era
mcam
Damon, got any photos of it?
AndyDiamond
They don't have quite the severe layback of other posts of the time.

Not as acute as the GHP posts but not extreme.
Just enough for some extra room without looking like your seat is a sled.
lol
bennyg
Yeah, I'll post a pic in the next 24hrs. I don't know much about the PR era statement it could be correct as my frame, fork & seat post were all purchased in late 1982 & came with the PR stickers.
mcam
Sweet, I'm keen to see one
caferacer
M.C , Paul and Andy D. i got this seat post with my october 83 built PR 200 in late 83.
If you look in any of the mags bmxa, plus and super bmx there are adds for the pr 200 f/f's plus 3 sizes of bars and a straight and lay back post.
Quite strong because within 7 months it broke the seat mast of the frame and is in great shape still.
I would post a photo if i was lots better on the old computer, sorry !
All made by G.T, my f/f even came in a G.T box !
mcam
Sorry Damon, I have to ask...

You want to sell it?

So anyway, when did you stop racing for JMC? I recall meeting you at the Liverpool Track, but I cant recall when... 1982? The JMC Shadow was out then. My brother had the choice of a Black Shadow, or a Shadow, but he totally dug the teardrop down tube, and went for the Black Shadow
caferacer
Getting of the track here abit, but i rode for Jim from Feb 1980 to end of 82 or so, a very good 3 years.
I have another PR 200 a dec 83 f/f so i might keep it, got a few plans to do one kinda how i raced it in 84.
Do they go for as much as the pads do new ? thats the only thing i have but canot find for the life of me !
mcam
Ah, I dont have genuine pads, but I have a repro set.

I'm building a PR240, but I am chasing down a few parts . I did a partial build a few months ago, but it was only temporary.

It was the nicest riding cruiser I have ever ridden. Well, alongside Clints 83 JMC 24 of course
gptrash
This is the one that came on my Patterson when I got it. Hope this helps.

outfront
I had one but know a GHP fanatic who did not have one, he was happy with his gift.
AndyDiamond
Damon - my PR200 is also Dec 83.
What is your serial number?

Here's mine.
caferacer
Andy my 2 are 12830151 and 10830175.
AndyDiamond
cool - mine is 12830043.
Frostie
I love seeing that bike Andy, well actually any of your builds, they are all my era
Frostie
Thinking about it, whilst we are on a Patty thread, does anyone know if they made bars pre the pr series of frames?

Just need to know what would be appropriate for my long frame.
AndyDiamond
No - I don't think they made bars pre PR series.

Of course GT bars would be the go although Brent used Star Bars for a while.

Thansk for the nice comments.
3rd gear
I had one on my PR240, and I mean had one. when I unpacked the box I accidently threw it in the dumpster. DOH!!
BMX2112
OUCH!! That hurts!
mcam
Does anyone have a photo of one on bike?

Brett: bummer... a dumpster bound PR seatpost is a sad thing
caferacer
If any of you guys have May 1979 bmx action there is a Patterson add on page 29, it shows the brent and Anderson frames Patterson forks [ i'd like to see these in real life ! ] and 2 sizes of Patterson bars, they look like thruster bars with the cross bar bent down on either side for the levers of the time.
I have never seen any photos with anyone runing the bars or forks so they might well of only been samples that never went into production.
AndyDiamond
I would have thought in 79 they were still running Speedo forks?
Jet Black
Nice page recall...

It's been a long 24hrs mcam but I've finally come good on the picks. Thanks to Jet Black & Andy Diamond for the adverts of Patterson Products.

They are both running Suzue Sealed Bearing hubs.
The same ones that came with the Pro Class rims on teh Mongoose Pro Class.

They changed hubs a lot - everything from exotic sealed jobs through to loose ball Jap stuff.

Sometimes the two brotehrs would set up their bikes exactly the same, then completely different.
AndyDiamond
Nice looking Patty there Benny.

You should have another 6" of post hiding in that seat tube!
bennyg
There is a lot more seat post sitting in the seat tube. I do not like to fully extend it for riding purposes but I probably should have fully extended the seat post for the photo. If I get time I'll take another photo & take the seat post out of the seat tube. Cheers
AndyDiamond
so how does it ride?

Those Unitrons looks run-in - much softer than when you first get em?
bennyg
It rides & rolls well over the track, I would like to jump it but I don't want to stack it & stuff it up.
P.S
I do need to work a little on my jumping skills hehehehe.
The only problem with the grips is the colour they are they get dirty quite quickly.
