Some 1970s ride I will be taking there. I have been trying different crank combos on the 30th anniversary Blue Lake BMX tribute bike. Photos to follow once I figure out what to use for the final combo.

I may venture into the garage next week (have to bring my oldest son to his college campus tomorrow and Friday to get his classes chosen and all of that good stuff) and play with the SideHack. It is the same hack with the same hack wheel and everything that Ben and Jay used to race out at Beaverton in 1978. Cracks me up watching Ben's old super 8 vids.

I'm working on a bike or two... Been awhile since we had a local gathering.

I'm bringing 2 maybe 3 bikes.

Doug - Blue Lake was the BMX track back in the 70's but no longer has a track. It is a big lake/park with plenty to do if you bring your kids again. (paddle boats, playgrounds, swimming, etc.) It seemed only fitting to have the first Portland Bike show here.

Doug - AWWWW , you're itching to test out the new cruiser aren't you.

No race track, just a county park that was the site of the track 30 years ago.

I'm in. I'll be bringing my JMC, Hutch and GT 24" and a Powerlite 26". Looking forward to it. I'll also be bringing a few guy's from town that have recently been bitten by the OSBMX bug....

To clarify,

We have had more than a half dozen Portland Old School BMX shows over the last few years. Most were in conjunction with a race or a fundraiser (Joe Kid On A Stingray screening included).

You could call this one the "First" Blue Lake Vintage Show, just not the "first" Portland show

I keep running into people and telling them to come there on the 18th.

I'll be there but probably with no bikes, as I am flying in to Canada for a trip and have no space or time to bring anything out, but still would be very happy to meet up with some of you and maybe bring some pictures of my bikes. I'd love to bring a bike out, but its hard to do on airplanes plus I want to bring somethings back home with me when I return to Japan and wouldn't have any space with a bike......

I think I might still have a beat up old Kuwahara at my parents place but the parts are all wrong and people would laugh at it if I brought it along, plus its rusty and the paint is terrible. I would feel ashamed

Just come out and enjoy the day. Bring pics of the bikes, I know you have some nice ones.

I am pretty excited about this too, it will be my first old school BMX show as I have never been able to make it to Rockford like I keep promising myself every year. I'll be flying half way around the world and driving over 6 hours. Sure hope I can find one of my old bikes so I at least have something to bring down, no show bikes for me. I can't wait!!

So, whats the best hotel around there? I tried to google the address and they dont have a detailed map to the park. Does anyone have directions from I84 going west. Comming from North Idaho. Is the exit number correct?
