I have started to become "attracted" to early-mid 80's profile bikes. I have a micro-mini but am starting to want a full size to build.
Is it me or is there not a whole bunch of PROFILE stuff (frame/fork-completes) out there. Is this stuff highly collectable? Or no more so than anything else? Is it possible to get repo decals? I have seen a couple frames on ebay and of coarse HI-$$$ crank sets but not much else.
Any PROFILE "experts" on the board that know what years PROFILE made FRAME/FORKs?
Just looking for as much info as possible.
Please excuse my ignorance, I'm just getting really interested in PROFILE stuff.
Anything you have is greatly appriciated!
Thanks
Shay

Don't miss out on those 1st-gen Profile cranks on the Bay right now then. Those don't come up often.

There is stuff out there, you just have too search and wait. Yes, these bikes are very collectable, and harder too find them lets say Hutch, Redline, Se Racing, etc. Profile years are 81 to 86 I believe ( somebody can correct me please if I'm wrong.)
Now you can join "my" world of Profile collecting. Frames are the easiest too find. There is a frame on ebay right now for $499.00, ( too expensive IMO for a frame without the forks). There's another on ebay for $1499.00 complete (again too much, but thats just MY opinion).
The second gen cranks are usually for sale on ebay. These first gen on ebay are rare, but just as rare as finding the horseshoe pedals, or the handlebars, or the lockjaw stems, or the gyrolight hubs.,.,.,good luck with those.

Profile made some super-slick stuff! Just like surf said: Pedals, Cranks(1st gen), Bars, stems, and hubs are all hard to find and high dollar.
So, raceit, when will we see your Profile bike on Ebay? LOL Just kidding. Sometimes people start threads to gauge rareness/desireability/interest.
Profile stuff is cool stuff.

I lived in St.Pete where they are made and everybody at one time or another had one, nice bikes.I wish I had a scanner I would post a pic of my double bar I had.I wish I would have known how collectable this stuff BMX would become, I had some trick stuff and gave away bunches of it.

Well, as I posted, I'm just now getting more interested in PROFILEs and have started paying more attention to the brand. My little bro raced a mini (which is the one I have but needs full resto) and I would like a full size but will probably never spend the amount of $$$$ to own one. Maybe one day???
Thanks very much for the info-very helpful.

It takes time raceit. It took me almost 1 yr, 9 months too compile parts, and complete Profile #1

Though it does have a lockjaw stem, 2nd gen cranks, and real seat post, I dont have the hubs, bars, or pedals on this one.
Now #2, that HAS the lockjaw stem, the 2nd gen cranks w/ star, the horseshoe pedals, the gyrolight hubs, and non drilled forks. Dont have the bars, but do have Hutch Pro's on it, only because I think they are the same bars as Profiles, since Profile made some of the first Hutch frame sets.

Profile actually made the classic CHAMP frame all the way into the early 90's, same decals and everything. They even made a Pro XL version- THAT I'd love to find.
I love Profile stuff...

They are all just really cool looking IMO.
Is there anyone who offers repro decals???
I saw some crank arm decals on ebay recently, but have never seen any frame/fork decals.
