I just picked this thing up off the bay for my world premier debut back into the racing foray. It looked cool, even though I've never heard of it before, and seemed to have some decent components on it. I needed a 24 to beat on and thrash and not care about when I wipe out on this sucker, because it's not a question of if, just a matter of when. Pro Concept 24 and here's the rundown of components:
Tektro Promax Brake - New
Performance PD-1 Platform pedals - New
Fusion 180mm Cranks Sealed - New
Alloy SeatPost - New
DK Headset - new
DiamondBack Stem - New
Chain Tensioners - New
Z-Chain - New
K2 Wheel Set flip - flop rear hub - New
K2 seat - Almost new
Primo Grips - new
Kenda Comp III Type Tires - New

Did I get ripped off or what? I paid 340 for it. Anyone have any info on this thing? It's on its way to me regardless. Thanks

pro concept were all the rage in the early 2000's or late 1990's. then it seems as though maybe staats took over as the rage, but pro concept were the bike to have for a while. nice bikes.

when it was new, the "frame only" was more than what you paid. if you don't want to crack the frame, lower that seat.

post it up on the racer board and ask if "pro concept" is still around, I think they did go out of business, but they were a very nice bike in the early part of the 2000's- still are a nice bike. I know a few people who still race them, gringo included.

I hope your completely happy & can live with the paint job thats on it now. Hopefully you will only use rattle can's , airbrush's or the like to overlay + add any extra colour's to this bike frame.

Steve, it looks killer. And, its neat to see another guy bite the bullet and get back into racing after the 20 year layoff.

pro concept is still being used by quite a few people out there. its a well built frame that is a great starter or get back into it bike. lower that seat it hurts the frame and you will kill yourself on the track. todays tracks are not high seat friendly
you got a good bike for the money

Wow, that all seems to be pretty good news! I'd never heard of it since I was out of racing by 1985-6. The pic I posted is the one off the auction, so the seat will definitely come down once I get my hands on it. It looked like it has decent geometry and being an all aluminum frame, I figured it had to be of some decent quality....let's just hope it doesn't put me back in the hospital!!!! Thanks guys!

i think you paid for the frame. the rest of the parts are take off's from other bikes. i don't think you paid too much for it, but i wouldn't have paid more. great frame with good starter parts.

welcome back. what's your age?

Glad to hear some additional reassurance that I didn't overpay for it. It looked a good bike to get around the track with. I'm a bone-breaking 39 year old. I started out as a 13 nov, 14 nov,15x, then went into 16-17 cruisers. I always laughed at the older guys (now me) racing cruisers cause they looked so stiff......ha! I play hockey, but it's a different kind of activity entirely. It should be real interesting getting around the track again! BTW, what's the NBL cruiser class I'd be in?
npsarider
35/39 cruiser then up to 40/44 i think that class is stacked here in florida where did ya race as a kid
