$50 and all i got was this:

early 80s mongoose survivor

Very minor surface rust, untouched brake bridge (coaster brake hub on Tuffs)


All old school components (schwinn seat/chainwheel, grab-on grips etc.)


Looks like it has only been built up once, perfect dropouts!!

If i can get the tires to hold air i may not change a thing and let this survivor live on.

Nice score there. On the Illinois craigslist, i believe the Champaigne area, theres a Revcore listed. So if anybody is near that area, they might want to check to see if thats still around.

I did notice something, it looks like all of the components are off of a Schwinn Mag Scrambler.

I noticed the same with the schwinn components.

I get the impression that it was intended to be built and ridden that way and that way only.

It seems to be one consistent build, no weird add ons or pieces that don't make sense, all Schwinn and Goose.
