I managed to get my first build done for the 2007 Rockford show. It is a "custom" built '79 Cook Bros. It took about 1 year to get it together but it really was a blast building it!! Here are a few pics Jr and I took today of the bike at the location of the old Gretna BMX track, here in LA. I truly appreciate all the kind words you guys on the vintage site have given me through email and at the show. It means the world to me!!!.... Hal, Rick, and Bill, you guys put on an incredible event and Jr and myself had a great time .... I would also like to thank all the people that made this bike happen, without you guys it wouldn't have been! :
Blikum, Code Blue, Angelo's crew, Team Rob, Chip/ C-4, Leparis, Cielle926, Snorton, Vettefan, Koorbk, Hi-Tech crew, Gotmyfreakon, Stevenbven, & Ted Carl, (please forgive me if i missed someone, this is all a little tough for me right now!)......But most of all God,Mom,Pop,Tomika, and my kids for getting me where I am today......I love yall for putting up with me!!!, Claude

Love it. Entry #95 got my vote. (had to think twice though because of the missing brake pads). Too much Cook to pass up. Outstanding job with R/W/&B. Nice!

Real nice, digging the colors. Still looking to score one of those Cooks seatpost clamps, they are sweet.

Claude, Nice meeting you at the show. Forgot to ask you why you used the newer mid 80's script logo on the crank vs. the script that was done on the hubs?
This bike had the first set of anodized cooks components to ever match. That bike was soo minty. Chris

thanks guys!!! still looking into the right # setup...i was hoping for something r/w/b...
Rimspoke, when i had the logos laser etched back on the hubs and cranks, i had the exact ones that were previously on those particular pieces replaced...Im pretty sure, (not 100% though) that the hub logo matches the era of the crank logo (approximately '80-'82).....the earlier script logo, that i believe you were referring to,('77-'79?) on the previous era cranks goes with the hub logo in script that also has "santa ana, california" underneath the words "cook brothers racing".....i will try to share some more photos of these parts as they are all completed....Im currently planning a house move and just getting this bike together was really a stretch.....hope this helps, thanks, claude

Red Baron, your bike in the other thread definitely contributed to my vision of gettin this done!!! Thank You!
Blikum, you are too modest and a true friend! (i dont have the nerves yet to put the brake pads on, LOL...but i guess i should've at least put them on for the show...Damn newbie! )

that'd be great to see you there. Kuwahara representin!
there was a beautiful Kuwahara on display near Colored tuffs that had some black serated stripes. I've never seen this particular paint scheme before.
anyone get a pic of it? I've not seen one posted, yet.
I do have a shot of the Kuwahara race display. I'll try to post that up for yah.

The Kuwi' you refer was done up as a replica of what Bob Haro was riding in the E.T. movie. I got the story from the owner. Really cool. He also had Haro sign it at the banquet.
It is now priceless.
