I took a few B&W shots of my 1980 cruiser collection , with titles underneath them all , very professional of me.....

If you believe that , I have a bridge to sell you , just PM me

I also have an 82 , 26 inch GT around here somewhere , just need a break in the wether
to take a fresh shiny colour picture of it.

Big wheel Cruiser racing bitd was the best , the 24in "bike" took all the fun out racing cruisers....
Having the optimal wheel diameter to race on gave them an unfair advantage over 20 & 26 inch bikes.

Here is a "before" picture of my 81' GT 26. Hopefully by winter is will look a lot more like mcams.

Mcam's GT and Brian's Nomuras do it for me. Wow. here's my contribution: 1981 26 Torker-I've owned it since 1982.

tumeke!!!!

Holy Crap, I have a ratrod black Schwinn Cruiser 5, with chrome tubular forks, a Redline cruiser bar-blue Schwinn grips, and the exact same blue (angled up) stem. Only I have black tires instead of blue.

I had to do a triple take, and make sure that was not my bike!!!
AtomicPunk
no pics of your schwinn spistols? id love to see some of those old schwinns done bmx style. reminds me of some of the older guys in the neighborhood back in the early 80s

Hey Steve, thanks for the prop

To be honest, I have always dug Torkers. I would absolutely DIG having a Torker 26 or 24. Great bikes! Yours looks like fun to ride. Are those Torker bars?
spistols
Atomicpunk- no pictures yet. My $1.99 digital camera is broken. I have to get a new one, and then I will load up on pictures.

I got tired of the beach cruiser look with the big arse bars and all, so I went different, for my neighborhood, that is.

Thanks! The bars are actually KOS cruiser bars with a Torker decal on them. The bike was orig raced by a Factory Torker rider who I guess preferred the KOS bars over Torkers, but needed the bars to show "Torker". The decal itself is a bit gnarly looking at this point, but it's the orig. 26 yr old one!

Love the GT Mark. reece the Quickie is lookin awsome too. Well done.
MikeStevens
Mcam,

Yeah still have the black one. In fact I ride it to work everyday! I was collecting parts to switch it over to a chrome with blue accents look like yours, but now I just want to build a second one. So I think one of my XL24's might have to go to get up the cash to find a second GT 26".

Jason Chang
Hey Kenny, somewhere I have a pic of you on a 26 at Castle park, but what knid was it and do you remember what the parts were?

Changstar
KennyBrown
Jason,

If you have a pic PLEASE email it to me....... I have like 2 pics of me racing back in the day and that is it. I have been trying to remember what cruiser it was and I think it was a Champion (from what my old [please review the site FAQs] memmory can remember) But I could be wrong. As for the parts I know it had araya rims and I think Mongoose bars, I also think it had some Sugino or Takagi 3 piece cranks.

Here's my '81 Prodyne DY Tribute ride. JMC and Prodyne have a long history together so why not bring the best of both worlds togethr?

Here is my most recent purchase.... 1980 S&S Newport cruiser. This will probably be the only 26" bmx I will own. It's a total rider.

KennyBrown
84pk,

That is a nice bike. As are all of the other bikes in this thread..... My eyes are open now for a frame and fork so if anyone has one let me know. I might have an old Schwinn that I will build up like the "Crisco Bath" machine with a different color combo.

Kenny
Jeremy K.
Hey Kenny,

I have 3 of Changstars albums. There are some cruiser shots in them. What number were you? What color jersey? I'll try to put the pics up if I have time. Changstar's very cool and has let me hold onto them to try and put pics up.

JK
KennyBrown
Honestly cannot remember my number but I think I had a Mongoose jersey (red and white) and the cruiser was red with gold rims and trim pieces. I would have been the guys that was ALWAYS behing John Llcuna except for the second race of the State Championships of 1981 where I actually beat him in that heat. And yes I am going to hold on to that for the rest of my life as I could NEVER beat him. I guess it was my day.

Kenny
Jeremy K.
Here's the two that I could find.....Thanks to Changstar!

jk

One More......Any of them you?

By the way......Yup Llacuna was very fast!!!
