huh?

im always TONE on the bmx sites.

maybe someone posted some of the stuff i sold to them.

the stuff ive posted here was at one point mine. where it ends up i have no idea.

however, the pix are mine so i dont like the idea of someone using them without permission.

i do get a kick out of seeing cw bars on so many builds.

i think i had close to 300 pairs at one point.

whoops, I guess it was a different guy with different bikes, his is kind of more freestyle oriented, it was just: seeing two different sets of photos from two different guys, but all oraganized, I thought they were all the same stuff, same huge lots of stuff. What was I thinking? I dunno, maybe I was just not thinking two different guys could have lots of stuff on two different sides of the country. My stuff, for example, is all in need of serious repair and restoration, and unoraganized. It was the organization of you two guys, I lack organization skills, to say the least.
here is the other guy

I've got a set of xcaliber pedals in red. Hutch heaven won a recent ebay auction with new gold ones for under $20. Jim, your lucky I forgot about that auction!

yeah, donvader, I still do not know how I mixed those two guys up, my head has not been on straight all weekend, now it's the next week and , well, it's the next week.

I'm speechless.

I had no idea that you were a collector. There is stuff in there I have never even seen before.

What would interest me is reading of how you went about gathering all this stuff, that's really what entertains me about hardcore collectors is the "find" & how they scored.
There's got to be a story behind every part you have here, it might take some time but myself & I'm sure alot of others in here would enjoy the read.

Nice collection.

ive had alot of people email me telling me nobody is seeing this thread because they think its about being 50 years old.

oh well, i sorta hijacked it anyway. some have suggested i put up a tones collection thread with all these pixs and more that i still have to share.

maybe i will redo it all with my own thread so everyone can see it. not sure if more will but i suppose so.

i can tell my story in it as well.
bnd
Yeah your right, I accidently surfed onto here.

Start your own thread & if there is a good story behind a part, feel free to talk about it. I was wondering about that Hutch Pro racer (chrome), is there something really special about that one?

Thanks,
Bruce

I started really getting serious about collecting around 1994. I started hitting shops in TX, then when I would travel to my home state, I would hit shops in every state between here and there. Before I knew it, I was hitting shops in like 15 states. If I could afford it, I would clean out the shops, buy huge lots of stuff. Then, I would take the bmx'er, and snail mail a business card { bmx bikes wanted} to each shop in the shop directory. Then, I would go { pre-internet} to the library and photocopy bike shop pages from other states, and mail cards to every bike shop in the nation. To this day, I get calls from like Ohio and stuff, where they found an old card of mine under a cash register, the card is 13 years old and dusty, but they call me. Keep in mind, in 1994 there was still a lot of stuff hanging around from 1982, in some shops.

Wow half the stuff in your collection I have not seen before, definitely an eye opener!!
John Sandberg
Simply amazing.

Tone, I assumed this thread was about old farts, so I never looked at it until I saw it mentioned on another thread.

I agree you should post a new thread about your collection, then tell us the story/stories.
Walter
john.....

which other thread?
Randy

I thought this was about AARP.
Walter

how bout them dang indians?

good god!!!!
rob_lewis
I wonder how many collectors out there have more stuff than the average bike shop did. I know looking at Tone's stuff that his collection is about 5-6 times what my local shop (Bicycle Exchange in Garland, TX) had in the hey day!!

Keep them pics coming Tone.

Stunned. I would never have thought that one person could have that much vintage merchandise in that condition. If there are others out there like this then that means there is far more NOS stuff in the world than I imagined. Wow.
