Didn't know what other section or thread this may have been brought up on .........but I went to the Schwinn site & they're making a new Stingray . I heard about the Peapicker & Orangecrate , but I didn't know they had built a Stingray . Anybody have one & what are they going for ? Is it worth to have for you Schwinn guys ?

The Peapicker, Grey Ghost, Orange Krate, Lemon Peeler and Apple Krate were all Stingray based bikes and were the top of the line Stingrays. Schwinn also made Fastback Stingray's, Ramshorn Fastbacks, 5 - speed Stingrays - really most were called Stingrays. They starting making the reproduction Stingrays back in 1998 (manybe 99) I think.... THey came out with the Grape Krate - whcih was the ominous krate that was debated a long time about if it was ever made or not. Schwinn is a whole ball of wax that people know - but it is a whole other beast to start explaning all they dd and do.

Interesting Stingray related interview

here is a quote form that interview I find appropriate for this site "In the mid-70s, the BMX craze hit and Sting-Rays became passé. Inspired by motocross, kids’ bikes started to look lighter and slimmer. Schwinn came out with a BX Sting-Ray—a hybrid with a Sting-Ray frame and a BMX seat—but it never really took off. The original Sting-Ray had been a phenomenon, but the age of the muscle bike was long gone. Just a few years later, if you were sighted on your Orange Krate, kids just laughed...."
