After a looong two years i finally scored,i can't believe how exciting it is.What can you guys tell me about it?The bars have a newer GT sticker on them but the cross tube is oval, which matches the frame top tube, are they correct for the bike?

Found in the Roch? There's got to be some scores to be had in Western NY. A bunch of my old bikes have to be floating around there somewhere.
5" head tube on that one?

I thought with both tracks being local there would be tons of bikes around but i haven't found one.I'll measure the headtube later today, fwiw i got it for $8 at a church sale.

I thought for sure that bike was from Chicago...
Just pull the bars back, air up the tires and shine it up...that's a great ride!

Yes, a 5" headtube. Kind of seeing more ProCrafts popping up lately. Now if we could only get some rock solid info on them.

Yes,after doing some searching here (go figure) there is very little info about them. They are definately quality, just a bit rare.

Theres just one ProCraft in the museum here, and a handful at bmxmuseum.com. But.....absolutely no company background info anywhere.
Oh BTW.....how did you come up with the "Ultima XL?" Mine doesn't say that anywhere and its exactlt like yours.

These are not in too good condition but are legible.

Most people say they came in around 1983/1984,i'm wondering if the L3J12163 serial i have is June 1983?

Of all the pics i've found i have yet to see another with the Procraft disk, the ring is Pro Neck. It's going to make a great survivor, very nice geometry.

I'm almost certain they were out of SoCal. My friend rode for them and he was an Orange Y local. His name was Brandon Michaels (18X) and this was around 84-87. but I was off in the Navy those years and not in close contact with him. I know this was also around the time Centennial Park, Santa Ana was the place to ride. I went there once with Brandon.
Contact Reuben at Bike Alley I bet he knows the scoop on ProCraft.

Very nice first score! I am still waiting for this kind of "first score" thing to happen to me, bmx-wise.
