Like I said...I call BS to below...

Ebay

SO, YOU NEED SOME REALLY NICE OLD SCHOOL GRIPS FOR YOUR BMX BIKE? Look no further. These grips are made by Fuan. This is the company that manufactured grips for Oakley. They were given permission to produce grips and sell them under their own name. These are the identical grips to those that came on the original Mongoose bmx racing bikes. This auction is for two pair of grips. One pair is black/blue and the other is blue/white.

The fact that Fuan grip had about as much give as a granite bench top kinda gives it away for me. Where as the oakley grip was actually functional...

There were knock-off of just about every grip out there at one time or another. If it didn't have the logo, it wasn't the real thing was always my mantra on grips.

I remember having bikes BITD with both Mushroom knock-offs and AME Tri knock-offs. Both tore my hands up. You can't beat the real thing.

What bugs me about the post RSRichie linked to -- "Im pretty sure these were made by oakley & used on the db turbo's. if anybody out there knows for sure please let me know."

I see too many auctions like this. If you don't know what it is, don't claim it to be something it's not. Don't even list it for that matter. Seems to me that they're just hoping someone buys into that type of description and spends bigger money than they should on a knock-off or otherwise cheap part.

You got that right Iboorse2...the ignorance plee.."I'm pretty sure that Harry Leary owned this sticker pack cause I got it from my next door neighbour who was sponsored by Mike Kings Uncles shop" to justify the BIN of $320....

Jerk even suggests you put the Tracker stickers on his "generic" trucks. Loser.

Here is my poor Lance Mountain with a nose job!

Early DB Turbos have black/grey Oakley f1's that do not have the Oakley logo on them. They have the same rubbery feel as marked Oakley's, unlike the "plasticy" feel of the Fuans.

dude i would like to have some of those tracker stickers.

dude those grips all day long at phatwheels $5.50. Heck, I got a pair, better put 'em up there, now I know they're Oakleys and all.

Riiiiiiight.

They sucked as much back then as they do today.
Erroneous I say! Erroneous!

Yeah agent, put BIN on of $260 because yours are the Prototypes that Oakley never released, right?

Fuan just made copies and I don't think they did it under license.

Yeah - so just copies.
Came on a bunch of bikes BITD.

Hard as hell - awful grips.

The F1 is an OK grip and looks cool on a couple of builds - red and white on a Redline PL20, black and grey on an early Turbo etc.

However, because the Fuan knock-off was so prominant on bikes BITD (mainly on junk bikes although some Geese had 'em) it's kinda put me off the genuine F1 for any builds.
