I had a small amount of spare time today, so I thought I would removed the rough old crankset off the 81 Junior frameset I have, and after doing that, I thought I would these photos. Shows the extreme difference in size between the Junior and the 26. Both frames are 1981.

These juniors are very cute. I have been toying with restoring it, and the more I look at it, the more I think it would be a load of fun.

Just thought some of you might enjoy the comparison

Cool! You found your GT mini bars! I wasn't aware that you located them. Good for you! That's one TOUGH piece out of the way...

I think the bars are a little bit too late for the frameset. The bars are actually aluminium (!) They definitely have the GT early mini bend, but being aluminium, I think they might be 84 or later. Andy quoted an ad stating "new GT aluminium mini bars".

I do have a nice blue Uni hammerhead and a blue Flite Uni cover that would look good on that The frame is in very good condition for its age. I cant thank Andy enough for finding it for me.

that 26" is very nice, I will own one sme day...

i Luv the 26"!!!!! GT is BMX in the purest form.

I built a os-mini Torker for my 5 year old Nephew Kobe, he races on it and loves BMX. After he grows out of it, I will restore it again for my kids...

Yeah - a 1984 GT ad featured 'new' chrome-plated alloy mini bars - like those.


Either way you have the bars for what you need.

Love that GT cruiser! Used to race one back in 1985!
