i came across this front sealed hub. its got 28 holes it seems to never have been used, but has some shop wear....






any ideas?

I think thats a mountainbike hub that was designed to have some suspension, instead of using a fork. If you take it apart I think you will see its' setting on elastomers.

What the hell is that clamp thingy for...a disc mount? Or is that how you acess the elastomers that leapin's talking about? Maybe undo that clamp and the shell slides off sideways revealing a pair of elastomer rings pressed in there? idk.

I really think that when the pinch is loosened the axle cartridge comes out as one piece.

The spoke holes look pretty big. I don't know, maybe a wheelchair hub?

I don't think it's a wheelchair hub...more moutain bike style.

Not many folks BITD doing machined Alu on hubs in the MTN bike realm.
