In the mid 70s Carlo Lucia(AKA Boss Racing) was doing his dirt track frames but having trouble making ends meet. For a while he went to work for and almost merged with..................drumroll please.....................................Doug Schwerma(AKA Champion). Which means that many, not all of the Schwerma Champions as well as Kenny Roberts and some of the early Pattersons that weren't made directly by Boss were welded by Carlo Lucia.
