Ken Pliska
Here's the deal:

VintageBMX.com is Bill's house. He owns it. We need to respect it when we visit it. It really is that simple.

Someone was using Bill's house as a platform for their own agenda. Bill tolerated it for quite some time. This was not a one time thing.

It has nothing to do with what I posted. And, like all of you, I simply posted an opinion.

You want to hate me for having an opinion? Be my guest. You want to hate Bill for exercising his authority? He has already stated, "no problem".

When the "icons" started to blame me and attack my character in the aftermath, I simply ignored them.

You want to ask me something? You know how to reach me.

I do suggest you learn more facts before you start throwing stones or taking your ball and walking home.

Enjoy your day folks.
Scot F.
Ken,

There are many of us that agree with you.
vettefan
ken , i dont know who said what or even what you are referring to , but whatever it is, i am standing right beside you and bill with my big stick !
t nile
Ken I do hope you understand I am not against you, I am against the harsh measures being taken. I hav no beef with you.
BenOr
I take no sides. Ken and Bill and I have been friends for years. It is Bill's house. His rules.

I also value the new friendships established recently. I do think everyone should cool down and gain perspective.

We all have more important stuff to be upset about. I mean I actually put on black sox with a blue suit as I left for the airport at 5:30am...
t nile
Ouch Ben, you poor thing. lol
Greg Hill
Here's an opinion:

What a load of crap...
t nile
Greg im with ya. But im not allowed to say anything apparently.

Everyone has an agenda , be it petty ***** slaps & reasonably priced shots at someone who's dictitorial ways just rubs them the wrong way on this board.

I have no idea of what this beef is over , involving the "heavy hitters" or players behind the scenes here , but it obviously isn't about personality clashes & taste in VBMX bicycle brands.
I'll take a wild guess & say that MONEY was somehow involved in this problem.....

Perhaps an open letter from each party involved stating their case might help clear the air & resolve your differences , or , is this "problem" a hush hush behind closed doors thing ?
Maybe things have gotten shakey of late between certain people , but is this rift any worse than the "rolling anarchy" of the early days of BMX ?
Seems that most of you have all been thu 20 to 30 years of running your own business's as well as living the life & sharing the passion of the BMX lifestyle that bought us all together in the first place ?

Might not be theright time for jokes or awkward questions......
Ken are you making puns about houses because you are in real estate ? or is that an indication of the money involved in this problem ?

Let me guess Clips vs. Flats?

Can we get some of that cool detective show music in the background?

Here's the deal..........can you guess who's car this is?

I don`t think money has anything to do with it. It got to the point where someone`s "OH YEAH???" was the loudest. We`ve all had our p*ssing matches on here. This one is just a little higher profile. I have no idea what the big schism was/is/could be, but it apparently went past the point of tolerance. I don`t even really care what it was about. I don`t know the people involved, never met a single one of them. I don`t want to come on here and read a bunch of drama. It`s all crap (yes, even the drama I participate in...pbthpbthpbth). I learned real early that things blow up quick around here. I think I had been a member for about a month and got attacked for defending clips...and I was still on flats myself.

We`re all grown here, you`d think we`d have learned not to be so trigger happy when something so small potatoes as petty words on an internet board rub us the wrong way (yes, I am guilty of it. Last time I did it, I asked to be removed as an active member).

I mean come on...VBMX is a great site, but we`re not changing the world here. This is BMX, not cancer research. And I have recently been awakened to the fact that some folks take all of this WAY too seriously. (get ready for a ranting monologue not aimed at any one individual) That makes it not fun, and when what you do makes this not fun for me...trails are free and I can still do a little flatland. And when all the d*ck kicking is over, and the callouts, and the attitudes subside, I personally will still find a way to have fun on a BMX bike, whether or not there is a bmx track anywhere to be found, or any internet.

"he who angers you, conquers you"
Best quote I`ve heard in a very long time. Here or elsewhere. It can be found in another recent thread. Thanks Brett.

So that's why Ken drives the old SUV to races now.

PS: I hope your legs getting better Ken. The Canadian races won't be the same without you this year.

I believe that Oz , aka the Wizard of BMXA aka Bob Ozbourne "has left the building" , although he is still a registered member here....
http://www.vintagebmx.com/cgi-bin/ultimate...file;u=00004176

Oz or for that fact any of the "Members of the Board" are no longer mentioned on the newly revised home page introduction message.

http://www.vintagebmx.com/

It would be shame to lose the ocasional input that such a rich source of information & general public BMX icon has to offer from the board.

When I read the word "agenda" used in an explanation , titled "Here's the Deal......" it usually means large scale internal political turmoil or anarchy & more often than not , money is involved in it somewhere

Maybe I am reading too much , too early into something I only have dribs & drabs of intel about.
I personally feel that this is more than an arguemet over what sort of coating is on early DX pedals & what chemicals you can use to get it off.

JB

FWIW
I never got into or read the clips vs flats argument..
If you run flats you can always bail off the bike with ease. If you run clips , you get to go down with the ship for an ugly crash _until_ you learn & master the dark ninja art of rapid mid air declipping , bailing + using the stylish tuck & roll technique.

I dont care about this stuff...I'm still looking forward to Rockford.
Bill
No agenda boys and girls.

A certain old school pro came on here a few months back and every post of his was charged. It got to the point where I was getting emails and calls as to who did he think he was.

Then Ken snapped. I went in, read the thread and went I get involved, action is swift. I'm not of the soft touch school of messageboard management. You are adults and you acknowledeged a user policy when you joined. I broke out the easy button and "Poof", it happened.
Bill

Well, I hope that all this blows over sooner rather that later. It will be a tremendous shame if all of our heros leave this site just because a few people got carried away. Being able to talk to everyone from BITD is just one of the many perks of being a part of the Vintage family.
BRIAN HAYS
"looking forward to talking about dusty old bikes! "

Damn it Tim. I told you that if you didn't start cleaning them and taking better care of them, I was gonna take them away from you.
BenOr
I want to see some sweet rattle can, overly decaled, factoryized bikes from Scott Towne. Yes, that is want I want to see at Rockford. Forget NOS. Give me saved from the trash, customized, wheelied (not manualled), 105 sweetness.
mikkopeters
It was tough to see the clouds of smoke coming out of those threads and to see people signing off.

But there is no other site that had commanded my attention for this many years and the friends I have made through VBMX are incredible. And I am not even talking about all the MN guys I know because of this place. That is another thread in it's own.

ROCKFORD OR BUST BABY! Dusty bikes, high fives, laughs and maybe even a few tears... er, I mean beers.
BenOr
Did they have BMX in Minnesota? We should start a thread and see if anyone jumps in. I'm unsure if it'll stick.
Bike_Mike
Man things get serious fast around here. I'm goin to Rockford, I'm bringing the Rev. Lucky and I'm gonna be shakin hands and drinkin beer weather ya like it or not. See ya soon B!tches!
mikkopeters
Ben, it is a little known fact that BMX started in MN.

A wise man once said there is no such thing as bad people. Just people that make bad decisions.

What it is that spurs people to make bad decisions is known only to the individual that makes them. Personally I reserve the right to make a bad decision at another time. (stay tuned) Well perhaps that is up to you, if I am making a bad decision, for you are the one that will make the decision, if I am making a mistake. The same way you did with Bill’s decision. Do I know what it is or was all about? Of course I don’t. What I do know is people. People just like you and me. Everyone means well in their own way. Just as I do by posting some words.

One thing that I have yet to se here on VBMX that is long over do is an apology from one member to another for something that they said in the past. As small as it may be from me to Ken P. Sorry if it offended you that I called you “Ranger Ken” in reference to what I thought was you sticking your nose somewhere that it did not belong. As well sorry if it bothered you me mentioning my not so acceptable way of life as a youth. When you are too young to work and have no money then you do what you need to do to eat. You could say that I should have kept my mouth shut. Do you know what I am speaking about Ken? I don’t know, only you do. All I can do is to try to say to all that I personally feel that individuals actions can be interpreted in many different ways. I hope that my words and actions here help to heal things so that we can all get back to VBMX.

Oh my agenda? It was to make some friends, turns out that I have learned something as well.

The same wise man said there is something to be learned by everything and everyone in life.

Ok, so who want’s to buy my perfect condition Floval flyer??? Ziggy

This thread was the reason I got up early this morning.. Is that bad? I might as well check the news on Paris Hilton while i'm at it.....
Guest200901
ziggy1 - I was not mocking you, sorry. Just trying to lighten things up. Actually only read the 1st line(which is all I even read on most of these anyway now), and thought that was a good line that fit in to KIW's point.

PIPE-Stay away from Paris Hilton, your bad news for her.

this could become a trend....the unregistered gang.

now you need a catchy slogan, a favorite color scheme, and a hand signal.

what's scary is, I can almost get my fingers twisted into the vbmx letters. but i'm not ready to join by any means.
