Nice job, do you sleep or do you just restore bikes all day long?
Sweet build.
What did you do to the motomags, bars, stem and forks? Out of a can or powder coated?

LOL.............
Yes, i sleep plenty.
No, i don't restore bikes all day
Yes, i do work and own my own business
So restoration is very much a hobby!!
(read..... Obsession.... LOL)
All parts are powdercoated. I spent ages sanding the powder off of the edge of the motomags. But the result was worth it.

Holly bike-shop-at-home Batman! That's one serious shed! Some pretty serious shelving on the right, do you ride many of them often? Thanks for posting the pic, I will show it to my missus tonight and then my bike collection won't look so bad (in her eyes)!

I see the rack has been moved from the width of the shed to the length, i was wondering how you were fitting them all in as the last time i saw pics the rack that spanned the width was near full.

i wish i had your orginization skills.....
waza007
May 2 2007, 06:57 PM
Skills?? ...LOL
it comes from "HAVING" to fit it all in and still move around. Im sure you can do it too. Just gotta think outside the wheel... um square.
Biggest thing i say is there is so much space above your head in a shed. use it. Hang bikes from one wheel overhead and stand another underneath it. A few $$ for a few plastic coated metal hooks is well in everyones budget. Not to mention if its neat and tidy there is less chance your spouse will complain as it doesnt seem like just a mess of bikes!
Also one thing i learnt ages a go from a good mate is "strip the donor bikes "as soon" as they come into the workshop. Much easier to cram parts in than complete bikes. AND much easier to hid that new score!!!!!
FYI imagine if all the frame sets that were in my workshop were left as built bikes there would be over 100 bikes!! That a lot of wasted space. Keep pedals with pedals stems with stems. Go to the hardware store and get a quantity of plastic tubs to keep all the parts in. that way when your looking for pedals or donor axles you only have to look in ONE tub!

Oh one more point, for those of you that have a lot of parts. A good idea is to lay all the parts out and take a hi-res photo. Then whenever you want to check if you have a part you can browse that tub from the comfort of your PC. Much easier late at night when responding to mates for trades or a build. just zoom into the pic!!!!!! Or even email the pic to your mate /trade partner for them to go virtual shopping!

Hey Waza,
That shed it seriously TOO clean and tidy.
I think that sometime I need to come down to Melbourne and clutter it up with some beer cans....

Hi Waza! How you been doing? Haven't talked in a while, sorry been really busy.
First got to congratulate you on another amazing build as usual. You don't really see Red Mongoose bikes like that anymore. That is just so incredible. Second, seeing pics of your amazing shed is just so wonderful. I love seeing new and updated pictures of that when they are around. I really think you should start some kind of website, now that would be really cool !!!!!
I guess you know I have a old Mongoose I want to build up too from Reece who was kind enough to help me out there with that. Still having problems finding the right forks, some bars and of course that Mag wheels not to mention correct stickers and other small parts. Anything you want to trade with me or need something from Japan?
Take care bro,
Jamie
