A few weeks ago my dad got a dumpster and was cleaning out his shed and yard, getting rid of a lot of junk he had acquired over the last 30 or 40 years. He told me to come over and see if there was anything I wanted before it got thrown away or given away. The first thing that I put dibs on was a ’74 Suzuki RL250 trials bike that I had when I was a kid. (I figured that someday I would like to restore it). Well, anyway when I went over to his house to see if there was anything else I wanted, he told me that he had tried giving away some of the old bicycles to the neighbors and didn’t have any takers so he was probably just going to junk them. I told him to let me put them in the classifieds and see if he could get a little money out of them. So I got my camera and went to take pictures of them and low and behold one of them was my old Yamaha Moto-bike. I had almost forgotten about how a friend and I begged our parents for these bikes back in ‘75 or ’76. So anyway now I have a couple of projects to work on. Its seat is broken but other than that I think it has hope. Here is a link to the picture of the Moto-bike, can anyone tell me exactly what year it is? I am guessing probably ’76 but I am not sure.

1976 C model. I had one just like it. Came with a one-piece crank and the lower fork legs are polished (not painted to match the frame color like on A or B models).

The C model also had a fairly large chain guard and the rear fender made out of plastic. The B model had a metal chainguard (painted in black if I recall) while the A had the same one, but chrome plated. The A (and perhaps the B as well) had a curved, chrome plated rear fender.

The B and C models came with a banana seat while the A had a small one.

Frames (seat bracket attachment points) and swingarm were also slightly different.
