I was going through boxes of stuff this weekend deciding what to keep and what to dump. I have a set of forks that I thought they were the Cycle Pros that Scot sold with the early SE frames. The steertube has the standard Tange markings and I if I'm remembering right says 9L on it. Are these the Cycle Pro ones or just some random Tange models?

I'll take a picture tonight if I don't get an answer. What I was essentually asking is, were the Cycle Pro forks sold by SE made by Tange and marked as such?

ask SE Mark. he just took delivery of an early original Cycle Pro fork from me. still wearing its decals. he can tell you how the steerer tube is marked.

I just went and checked mine have no marking on the steering tube at all. RandyS Post up a photo and it will help us give you a better idea. Tim, didn't tange make a TX or TR model that looked like the cyclepro?

the blue ones are cycle pro and the spray bomb are race. at the top of the drop out the race comes in tight, and the cp sticks out farther also at the bottom the ri is rounded and the cp is pointed.

The early Cycle Pro's had nothing stamped on the steerer tube but by 1981 they were stamped Tange just above the race surface. I've had them both ways, and yes the CP forks look very much like the Race Inc forks but you can see the difference when they are side by side.

Thanks, I looked at them again and there's a dark blue and chrome CP sticker on each side under the spraybomb. Are the later ones the same as the early ones aside from the stamp? (ie: I've been saving them on the ever so slight chance that I find my chrome looptail at a friends house someday since I can't remember what actually happened to a single one of my bikes)
