Since all of my emails to him go unanswered, I was hoping to find out if anyone knows this guy. How is it that he seems to have an infinite supply of "old" Bullseye hubs?

He never returned mine either, I wanted to know if he had any 28 hole bullseye hubs. I wonder if its Roger.
HurricaneHenry
Could it be his son? Thought I read somewhere that Dad was retireing and son was selling off remaining stuff???

I have emailed him many times with no return about the hubs he has for sale. I am thinking this dude is up to no good.

This is why I'm asking. I bet you I've tried emailing him 5 times. Not one reply - but his feedback is good so he must deliver.

Just strange how he has a never ending supply of these hubs.

What did Bullseye hubs sell for new in 1985 anyway?

He is completely legit, and a really nice guy to boot. Not sure why he doesnt answer emails, but i have won quite a few sets of hub auctions from him, and he delivers every time. It isnt Roger or his son, but I think a friend of the family.

The guy's name is Steven (Jackson?) and is a straight up dude. I've also bought a few sets of hubs from him w/ no issues. He's smart about it though, he doesn't flood eBay with them, just releases them one or two sets at a time to keep demand up.

BTW, I have a Red White and Blue set NOS that I bought from him and decided to go a different route w/ my build.Still in the box If anyone is interested, let me know. Thanks.

he has answerd my emails when i had questions on his hubs

I kinda wish I'd been more patient when I decided to go for my first pr of hi-end hubs. His stuff looks really good and would have been cheaper and less hassle than the route I chose.

Still learning after all these years...

I have also bought from him, no problems at all. I actually asked him all of the above questions too. He told me that he has a contact that bought a large amount of stock many years ago and he buys stock from him. Now I don't know if this just a myth or not but I have no reason to doubt him. The hubs are diffinately newer versions as they are slightly different to my early ones, the spoke flanges are a little thicker. They are awesome hubs.

Oh yeah, they sold for $59.99 in September 1986 (Nighthawk BMX Mail Order BMXA) not as bad inflation as the black Kashimax Aero which was $8.49! (Saw 1 sell for $200 on ebay!)

I talked to the guy on the phone too. Same story as you said 84Profile. Nice guy, and hubs are nice too.

Hey, thanks for the "green light" to deal with him. I appreciate all the info.

I have bought a few sets of hubs from him and it was a perfect transaction with no issues, he was very fast with his shipping and threw in some extra decals.
caferacer
I have bought 2 sets of hubs and no problems at all.
One set had a little colour variation and he swaped them so i had a matching set !
Fast shipping to boot !

He is legit and a good guy to deal with also. I bought 2 sets; 1 gold & 1 red off him over the last 5-6 months.

We corresponded a bit and he said the same as some of you guys above have said. Knows the Durhams, has bought a lot of stock from them.

Asked if I wanted anything else. I'm mainly interested in gold and he said doesn't have any more but does occasionally anodise silver sets, so we'll see what turns up in the future.

his story is bogus.

a friend who bought a large amount of stock many years ago?

well geez louise. his late generation hubs with the allen bolts are wearing 70's era oval decals. which muxster had repop'ed a couple years ago and Roger started sticking on his allen bolt-style hubs.

if the guy got a large stock of hubs from somewhere, its wasn't very long ago.

The word I got was that Steve knows some guy in Florida who is an "old school bmx nut." The florida guy bought out all of Rogers inventory that was laying around. The FL guy will only deal with Steve and sends him batches of hubs every now and then. The FL guy does all the pollishing.

Steve seems to have been involved in BMX for a long time and I have never had a problem buying from him. He has answered all my emails and has even given me extra stuff. If I had more money, I would buy more hubs!

His hubs are exactly the same as the last set I got from Roger before he shut the doors. Perhaps the guy from Florida is Roger's son???

That is the same story I was told and makes sense to me. Great to deal with.
