Trust me Brad....you were the last one I figured would show anyway...

I am really bummed though that it's lookin like a very small list is showing up. Isanti has put a huge focus on us old schooler's for this event. But, I do understand family comes first.

Everyone have a safe and enjoyable weekend!

----------JUST FOR THE RECORD----------

This was an email from Mr. Apold responding to my email invite....

quote:
I'll be there, but doubt I'll compete. If I can get out on a track, maybe, but I haven't been on a track since March...
Hmmm.... Anyone ever heard of Brad not following through with what he say's? Anyone? J/K (NOT!)
Heir Vendt
Who is "IN" for this OS race?
Rod Byrnes
Mikko, if you want to use my bike for some old fashion racing you're more then welcome.
mikkopeters
I know that you'd let me borrow the bike bro, but I am heading up north for the weekend.
wds
Jay - I'm "IN".
You racing that Electra cruiser of yours?
See you there sat.
-Bill
King of Pipeline
That video was great.. Props to MC for coming through.. I have to have that race on DVD. That is the highlight of my career..
B. Apold
Geeeez! well I could just drop the plans I had watching my kids while my wife is at Waterpark heaven hotel with 6 of her daughters best friends celebrating her 13th Birthday. (LOL)...My intentions are good, but I gotz a full plate.. Marcus, I haven't even had my car on the track yet this year... Life is seriously busy. Oh did I mention I installed a timing belt in my 1.8T Passat yesterday???? bioch of a job.... yuk!

I'll see ya at Rehbien's in the Fall....Life is slower then.
mikkopeters
BA, if you need something extra to do you can install some sway bars for me.
B. Apold
Always a joy intstalling suspension parts on a 4 seasoned car. LOL!!! The elements are cruel on uncarriage parts. Why, your V-70 in need of some shhhtuff? Those cars aren't to hard to work on, but the crappy electrical system can be a bit challenging. The Swed's would rather have a burl wood dash than a functioning electical system. The I-5 turbo motors are one of my all time favs...
WBL BMXer - aka Chucky
Brad, go out and start tuning that bike of yours. By the time you make it on the track you're going to need all the help you can get.

Have fun this weekend with the birthday party.
Paul Springer
Alright guys, is it to early to start talkin about St. Cloud State Qualifier next weekend? I know Brab is all in and probably racing : P

It's a 3 day race weekend (Fri, Sat & Sun)

In the shower this morning listening to KFAN.
Chris found St. Michael's track and road is SE on it WEd/thurs.

Sent him the info for the OS race tomorrow and links to the sites. Hope he shows with kids in tow. Fun for all. I think they would get a kick out of seeing their OL' man racing too!!!!

He plugged BMX racing at St. Michaels, Elk River, and Isanti. Very cool. Thx

MC, are you going to be at Isanti tonight? I going to race tonight, but I can't make it on Saturday.
Heir Vendt
What time are you going Chucky?
Are you coming from home or from work?

If from home, can I catch a ride?
WBL BMXer - aka Chucky
Jay, I'm going straight from work and I have to make some stops afterwards, otherwise I would have picked you up. Next time we'll have to plan it so we can go together.

I just looked and registration is from 5:30 - 6:30 tonight. Good night to get some practice in.

Are you going to make it?
Heir Vendt
oooooh. Not a chance.

Mpls - South...then back to the north..No way.
5:30-6:30pm ???? Doesn't anyone work anymore?
Oh well...there's tomorrow
WBL BMXer - aka Chucky
That's okay. Save it for tomorrow. You OS guys that show up will have a blast in the 1st OS open. Good luck and have fun!
B. Apold
Chucky, My bike is tuned baby! Its the same as it was when I pulled it out of the box.. I'm a practice night junky. No pressure and still get the excersize. I'm just doing it to stay "Winter time" fit. I really wanted to race the Cloud National, but I'm not ready for that humiliation. haahaahaaahaa.. I'll probably go to watch like I did last year. It was a short National. Done by 2pm.. I think my Cruiser class had 4 riders.....Wow!
Mike Welsh
What's up Mark Conley? Long time no talk. Rock N Roll.
WBL BMXer - aka Chucky
Pressure? Did you watch the Faribult video?
Guest200901
Mr. Welsh! Hope all is well is KS

Chuck-Wendtless-Bill- I am leaving porktown soon and headed for Isanti with booth my boy's in tow. Looking forward to seeing you all!

BRAD - .............-........-............

Did ya forget the date of the 13th birthday?

BRAD - ......-...............-......-.......

OK, I'm out of here!
B. Apold
Mark, Hannah's birthday was on the 18th, however the celebration is tonight, ending in the morning... I'll make one of the days...I'll try my best. The problem with todays races you never know how long there going to last. In our day, they lasted LONG time... Now get off my back!

Chunky, that isn't pressure... Do a few more races and you'll be right back were you were as a kid.
bnd
So is there racing Thursday, Friday, Sat & Sunday at St. Cloud? Or is Thursday just practice?

Brad , IMO youve never been the same aka scarred permanently- since Troy Lembke hid your bike down in Iowa. BMX is just a big roller coaster of emotions that can melt the frontal lobe if left unchecked.
B. Apold
Sean, Troy never hid my bike, he left me in Iowa, bike and all. Ask Jeff and Howie Manning...Haahaaa..
I think Troy might have tried to hide it after I beat him in Mankato....He was PO'd man... That race was the only time I ever beat Butterfield fare and square. He actually congrats'd me and said great whole shot, etc. I liked Rob, he was allot of fun when him and I were stuck after Troy ditched us for a stray chick.... Rob, you there??? Also, if Troy was in a good mood, he was a blast.. Troy had a really funny side to him..

I was never scared about racing bmx. I came un-glued at the Grands one year because I had almost lost out of making the main, and you know this story...LOL!!! anyway, 8th place after all those 24th,16th, 8ths 1/4's etc... If it wasn't for me triple'n those 4 whoops it would have been history for me.
Rydjors Dark Sider Black Sheep 1%'r
i thought you posted about Troy hiding your bike and causing you to be late for a race? You posted this last year on the other thread...said you squealed on Troy to his chick about his roving eye or something like that???? He then his your bike and you found it at the last second etc...dont make me look through all 600 pages on the other thread!
Rydjors Dark Sider Black Sheep 1%'r
i'm feeling nostalgic....

You guys looked great, super job everyone! I wish I could be there but I was hangin with the family camping up north. Hope to see you in St. Cloud at Pineview.
Paul Springer
I am guessing Logan was popping pics this weekend as well, super job Logan. You need to keep at it, you do a very nice job!
Heir Vendt
Looks like it was fun.

Good job Bill.

MC - I chose todo other things.

Then there are the other 2 who thought it would be funny to mess with my new build...
"The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee. "
Paul Springer
Uhhhhh, bless you Wendt
mikkopeters
Looks like a great weekend! Thanks for posting the pics & video.

Wendt, do you know what they call a quarter pounder with cheese in France?
Heir Vendt
Why yes I do McClown. They call it a "Royal with Cheese"...

Guest200901
It's looking like St. Cloud does not race on Friday I guess.

SOOO, looks like a few are headed to Spicer to checkout that track, then St. Cloud Saturday and Sunday

BRUCE - Are you in Minnesooota yet?
WBL BMXer - aka Chucky
Just back in town and playing catch up.

Saturday looked like a lot of fun. Way to go Bill. Now you have to come back for round 2 to defend your podium finish. Next OS race, Lydsay has to ride his OS mini that he started on.

MC, do you have the Friday video posted anywhere?

Had a fun road trip through Wisconsin. I saw that there was a track in Wisconsin Rapids so I planned my route with a stop in town. As I was traveling through town, I saw several kids on BMX bikes with number plates. Very cool!

I couldn't get close to the track because the road to the park was roped off. What was really cool was the street signs through town had "BMX Track" direction signs pointing the way. Not homemade ones, DOT signs.

To top it off, when I stopped at the bike shop (Bring's Bikes), they had all kinds of bikes and parts. It was like the old days when you walked into the shop and there was actually stuff to buy. While I was in there, one family came in and was talking about racing in St. Cloud at the National. I told them St. Cloud was also racing this week, and they were seriously considering coming for both.

I didn't want to leave. It was cool seeing the BMX thing working for them.
Paul Springer
That is awesome hearing about a LBS that still stocks parts for the local kids. This steamy weather sure makes it hard to want to go out and ride. I hope everyone is staying COOL

State Fair is less than a month away! Goodbye Summer
