It was nice meeting some of you on Saturday. Sorry I did not make it over to the OS tent over by the finish line. Busy night with both my kid and myself racing. I also spent half the night making sure they didn't blow my PA up every time the generator died. What a night. Seemed like every other gate after the first round of motos had to be reset because of the generator. There was the crash on the rhythm section that resulted in an ambulance ride for one kid. We were lucky to get done before it got too dark to see!

My son Blake got 3rd place in the main. They took his moto and combined it with another one for the main. Nothing like a full gate for the main! He was a little disappointed with third, but I kept telling him that he did pretty well for a full gate.

I myself got left in the dust. Literally. Before the third hill on the first straight, the guys literally kicked dust in my eyes. I pedaled my butt off, but I just did not have enough to qualify. I had a blast anyway.

Friday night was not bad either. Blake and I both got second.

The Mankato track will be a lot nicer to hold a big race like that once we get some real electricity there, and some light poles with lights. Then we can mount some all weather speakers on them. That is a big big area to try and cover with a PA. It will also be nice once the dirt get’s packed in, and some grass starts growing on the grounds.

Thanks for a great weekend guys. My wife and daughter had a blast hanging with the OS'ers, but I think the wife needs to stay home before you know all my dark secrets.

Where to start? The class we had in Faribault was awesome. Bill (WDS) & Jerry (KOP) both did a great job out there. I think Springer still has tire marks on him from that main race. Bill, it was fun hanging out with you on Saturday.

Mankato did a great job getting ready for racing with the conditions they had. Long track, let me repeat, long track. Justin, it was nice to meet you and talk to you in staging.

Sunday racing was a little hard after the double header on Saturday. Racing Jason Lydsay & Mike Auman was interesting. You guys are way too fast. Mike, it was fun catching up with you. It's cool you guys stayed with it all these years, and it shows. I really have to work hard to get back into shape if I want to keep up with you guys.

Jay "no socks" Wendt, I'm glad you came out to play Sunday. Thanks for the encouraging words too. I can’t wait till you start racing again. Practice is one thing, but taking the gate for a real race is an amazing feeling.

All I can say is we have a great group of people to hangout with at the races. Thanks for making it so much fun.
wds
Yeah Scott, I mean Chucky! It was a great time just hanging out with you & your family as well. Thank your wife for sharing those great sandwiches & for sharing all the fun stories.
Also thanks for the tips sat it was really great to be rounding the 3rd turn @ Faribault & hearing you & Springer rooting me on, thanks guys!
Look forwards to racing with y'all again soon.

MCFreestyle.com was one rider short this weekend, but Springer was hittin' the tables without Boecker this weekend. He caught wind of El Circus Bear's gig on the pit bikes and figured he could do better

I just found pedal marks on my ear from KOP...
Guest200901
Keep ur fur on, I'm working on it dammmnnnit!
WBL BMXer - aka Chucky
Great photos MC!

I thought long and hard last night about my riding. I think the pictures above show the difference. I'm still in the fear mode trying to stay on the ground and Lydsay is hauling butt. I need some track time without a race so I can work on being more comfortable on the bike. I'm going to have to hit some practice nights soon.

PS - If it's not too much trouble, I want to see the videos too. Thank you!
Paul Springer
I am going to race Elk River's wednesday night single points if anyone is interested in racing too.

That's what it's all about. Classic stuff right there. If that's not motivation for the rest of you, nothing is.
Justin Miller
Nice video!
My favorite part of that race is that KOP looked back on the second to last hill before the 2nd berm. He did it in mid air no less! Man, last out of the gate and he got 2nd place!
B. Apold
LMAO! That is so funny. Boecker I would have thought that after all this time you would have been at terms with me kicking your a-s-s.... Still upset I know.....LOL!!!!
Heir Vendt
That is too**** funny!!!!!!

AND he's far enough in the leed to say something and still wins!!! Priceless!
Paul Springer
Man is that hilarious...

Boecker your a kook! Watch the second straight first table, KOP airs out and crosses up and bonks me and that is when I pull the plug. KOP, I want a rematch... I am currently high bidder on a sweet set of brass knuckles & num chucks for our next race KOP.

Rydjors Dark Sider Black Sheep 1%'r
ohhh noo those arent brass knuckles// those are
hand clips"!- you attach them to your bar and it allows more of a tug force than without.
mikkopeters
That is FRIGGING COOL!!!!! Man, that looks like so much fun, I was bummed out that I couldn't make it.
I am out of town for Isanti, I am even more bummed about this.
Bill S stopped by for a quick visit tonight and I rode my kick *** freestyle bike in the driveway. If I race as well as I tear it up on my bike doing tricks, this fall will be fun.
John Sandberg
That video is awesome. Very funny, Boecker.

BTW Boecker... is your lovely bride one of the many who has returned home from Iraq in recent days? I'm crossing my fingers for you.
B. Apold
I was thinking about Scott's wifes return home as well while watching the news... Scott??? Hey, Were all pull'n for ya...
WBL BMXer - aka Chucky
You know, with you two 40 & under riders, we could have had two motos and a full main. Then we would have really found out who sucks.

Scott B, I didn't know your wife was in Iraq. I hope she makes it home soon.

Heir Vendt
Those are sweet!
Paul Springer
UGH, I wish I could be there. Those are sweet plates!
WBL BMXer - aka Chucky
Pauli, I know what you're saying. This is going to be a tough one to miss, but I'm looking forward to Sydney's triathlon Saturday.

I did see that Isanti has a single points race on Friday night that I can make. Is anyone else interested in a warm-up race before Saturday's big event?
wds
I wish the plate went all the way to number 8! Maybe I could get one I'm gonna hit Isanti sat. Scott, too bad you can't make it, but were I in your shoes - I'd make the same choice.
I can't do the friday night race, so I'll catch you guys at the next race!
-Bill
B. Apold
Sorry Chucky, no plans to race really. I wanted to race St. Cloud National, but like I thought I wouldn't ride my bike all Summer. In fact I haven't touched it since March, accept I rode it on Elk River's track (backwards) last Thursday night... does that count??? LOL!

Cool plates MC...

I packed up my cruiser & it gets sent off tomorrow. Russ says he's going to St Cloud to practice tomorrow night (Weds).

Bruce.
retroBMX
Hey BND, wish I could make it to St Cloud to see you guys. Heading out on vacation on Saturday. I'm gonna miss all the fun around here. Good luck!

Regarding that Faribo race....MC you need to submit that to ESPN as an "Instant Classic"
B. Apold
Agree^^^ I think a laugh at my expense would be the highlight of ESPN this season... Or maybe contact Versus (formerly OLN). Bob Roll would probably air it.... I think the funniest part of that whole thing is its an actual race.LOL!!!! Boecker, watch your back. heeheeheee
WBL BMXer - aka Chucky
The funniest part is the actual race, especially Springer's little two-step over the double.
Paul Springer
Keep laughin, I am still traumatized. This mishap has set back my bmx career to "Apold scared". You guys are all bully's...
Heir Vendt
Paul now will be formally nicknamed hangnail-2.
B. Apold
Paul its okay to be scared, in fact I don't think anyone wants to crash, I know I don't.

BTW, lets hit Elk River trails....SOOOOOOON! Its bone arse dry out and perfect sunset riding weather minus the 70deg Dewpoint.... Yikes!!!
Heir Vendt
Paul Springer
Hey Gomer, nice wrinkly man booob pecks...

Heir Vendt
Doh!

Here is a little treat for YOU OLDIES that I tossed together.

When I get a chance to clean it up and add to it and put it on DVD I'll let you know. This should have most of the old classes from the summer so far on it
mikkopeters
That's awesome, lots of cool memories in that clip!
OS MN BS BMX LOL OMG rules!
B. Apold
Mark, during the "BA s*cks" part in that video you should silence the tunes for enough time to patch Boecker voice in there....LOL!!!
Heir Vendt
Ok.

I believe most of the MN folks know to take me with tounge and cheek...meaning that I'm BS'ing 99% of the time and having fun. (Dang it Paul...I need a Man-zeer and sp check F7) Anyway, I poke at folks and try having fun with them.

After chatting with a couple of the other cats tonight, I started to wonder if the casual reader might go down the wrong path with some of the banter.

Here's the deal - we're HAVING fun.
We've all pretty much have known each other forever.

For instance: Brad - I have the utmost respect for this guy. Insanely good racer and SUPER-Daddy! He's got his deal covered. Mucho REspecto.

Mikko - If it weren't for this dude...I don't know if there would be a MN anything. Freestyle, Dirt, tricks..whatever..its all BMX...its all good. Pink bikes though?...oooh ah..my bad.

Back to the "OS goes to the New School" on the short bus, with "Grumpy Old Man" Conley and his never-ending quest of keeping BMX A-LIIIIIIVE! Thx Mark!

Talking to Russ tonight, he got in only 6 laps before he blew out a tube & no replacements could be found. He said the T.O. & everybody was very friendly.
He said the track is very technical......I watched some of the vids & from the outside looking in, it doesn't seem that hard. Is it scary tech or is Russ just really rusty?

Thanks,
Bruce
Guest200901
Wendt said Russ is a big WUSS, since he thinks the St. Cloud track is all tech-hard! Gotta watch what J-Wendt say's though, cuz he is starting crap all over the place I guess.

Bruce give me a call when you get in town, I'm not far away from where you well be. Sent my # to you VIA PM.
Heir Vendt
NICE one OM-Conley!
Guest200901
Hope to see some old schooler's out at Isanti this weekend. It's going to be a GREAT WEEKEND!
B. Apold
