Brad-Who's on that Quad behind you?
mikkopeters
Sweet pic BA!
B. Apold
MC, Its Mike Swank. He was always a good rider, nice guy, etc.

Pat and Dan ordered that complete bike from SE. I remember when they ordered it, and for some reason (please clarify) I think it was suppose to be your bike... Sound right? I think they had to order 2 complete bikes for an SE order and Shan Lynde's DB IV was the other bike...
Guest200901
Brad - I kind of remember that. It might of been this one? But I thought I had a red one, or Pat Nelson did?

WBL BMXer - aka Chucky
Great pictures guys. Mark, can you put some names to the riders? I think I can figure out 8 & 2.

I like the front brakes. I remember trying dual brakes at a few races.
Guest200901
8-Me
2-Dave Christensen
85-Steve Redelsperger
Other- I think Mike Vangen
Heir Vendt
Brad - was that during a practice or open race? Mike is a year younger than me...and your an old fart like MC!!! Bwahahahahahaha
B. Apold
#85 is Vangen isn't it?.

Are there any pics of Aberhamsen? he quit at such a weird time.. Man he was fast for the time period. He was like Dave & MC only not quiet as fast, but quick for his age..

Jay, there was two Mike Swanks. The Mike Swank above was my age and went to Pacelli, the other Mike Swank didn't race and played in Miland's rock band... Drummer Mike was just back from AZ a few weeks ago..
Guest200901
Not sure about pics of Keith A. great rider and all around good guy if I remember correctly
Guest200901
Watch it Wendt! Or you may find broken poles in the bottom of your boat some morning before the sun comes up
Heir Vendt
IT'ssssss A-Liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiive! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHA

MC - Open your window...breeeeath...Mmmmm Pork products..yum...yum..heheheh
Guest200901
Not in Porkville, I'm in goatville this week....
John Sandberg
#85 in the above image is definitely daRedelsperger riding his beloved JMC with Campy cranks. Looking "on the verge" as he so often was.

Berger, where you been?
Rydjors Dark Sider Black Sheep 1%'r
i love it. We posted ALL those pics on the other thread...and now its like a whole new group is seeing them for the first time. I might as well re-post all my items again since my photo host is gonenow I think? is myspacephoto. com not around anymore?

ps Mark--great shot of you ahead of the pack. It must be cool to have the proof that our state's hero could be beaten...or at least holeshotted(real word?)...I wish I had a photo of myself ahead of Sandberg but it doesnt exist. Actually, I am not sure if we were ever in the same age class?
Brad, racing soon??
John"white Panther" Sandberg...-= how about you?
B. Apold
Sean, if I ever actually get out and ride my 24" I might race the St. Cloud National (for fun), but other than that, no. I don't think I'll even do that. My Summer is getting away from me already.

Sean, doubt if you ever raced John unless it was an open class perhaps. I didn't even race John that much being I was 7 months older and he lived Metro and I didn't and if I was up there he was Tahoe'n a national somewhere. I raced Tim allot more than John. Tim is still one of the best-consistant riders of my age group... I'm sure John would put his stamp on that too.
WBL BMXer - aka Chucky
Sean, after hearing Apold stories at Rockford, I wouldn't expect to see him on the track. See Conley for a list of excuses.

Just kidding Brad. I know where you're coming from. I'm struggling with this racing desire too. After watching the racing this weekend at Rockford, I've gone through the full range of emotions, from "I can still do this " to "You've already done this, just walk away" (after seeing the carnage & gurney ) .

Granted, Rockford is the first race I’ve watched in 20 years and it is a premier national event, but I have to take back what I've said about the current racing scene. My comments about not liking the current tracks, NS bikes, and on track racing was based on my OS perspective. The racing at Rockford was insane. In my opinion, this is way more technical than when we raced. Watching these guys & girls fly down the first straight and hit the triple/triple rhythm section at full speed is simply awesome. Words can't describe it; you have to watch for yourself. I would like see a little more pedaling after the second berm, but there was no shortage of passing or side-by-side racing going into the last berm.

Racing is racing and you have to adapt regardless of the equipment, track, etc. Our racing was technical for our time period, but this NS racing just takes it to the next level.

Watching our OS MN boys compete was a blast, and there is no shortage of talent in our NS group of riders.

Well it's happening, Russ got his cruiser built & is ready for the track. I never thought I would see this again as he really messed himself up at Rockford 05' & he stated he was done. Nothing like alittle smak talk from me to get his fire burning again!

He is looking to maybe go practice this weekend but really doesn't know where to go. His internet skills aren't the best that's why he isn't in here. Any of you guys that want a riding partner or would like to invite him to go practice, feel free to call him at 320-743-7093, he lives about 10 miles from St. Cloud.

I've got to say again you guys really have it going on up there, lots of fun for sure.

Guest200901
Well then Russ won't be far away from this weekends series race.

Russ if your reading, saddle up and bring that new ride down to St. Michael this weekend!

If you are talking about that the race above is not on there, click on the Multi-Points race link below.

I'm sure that gets missed a lot. My heart skipped a beat for a second! Should all be on one page
Heir Vendt
Guys...leave poor Brad alone. I heard he's in a new band having fun...Here's a link.

funny guy Jay.

WBL, For the entire time I've been back doing this again I've struggled with racing or just riding the tracks. For me I guess when I decide to do something I do it 120% and I can't give 40% right now because of my Family "needs" situation, so I end up talking allot.. sorry to disappoint guys .

I haven't riden my FMF24 since February and I probably won't ride it again until Sept when Rehbein's opens again, or Eden Prairie ( BTW, whats up with that? ).. Anway, yes WBL, we have done this before and walking away would be the easiest thing to do, but that would be to easy.....but your still wanting to race... Its tough. For me, its probably the injury factor more than anything... sad, but true

I 100% understand Brad!

I fell down fixing my garage on the Cement. Some of these new tracks look like cement...I know I don't "bounce" off the ground like I used to.

Being 75% with an arm, and you type for a living is not cool. Love the "tinglies" in the fingers...

But that being said, I am looking for a new school BMX bike and gear...knee pads, elbo pads, gloves...etc...
Conley - you still got that FMF?
B. Apold
Jay, MC's son is racing it but I think he's going to be racing a "CYAAA" bike now.
Guest200901
Jay- Still have the FMF, son is racing his 20" and the 24 C-Yaa at some point
Heir Vendt
Maybe Sat.

Maybe.

Show up Wendt or me and Rod are paying you a visit.

I had a wild night--take my advice-welding around flammables with no extinguisher handy is not a good idea.

WBL BMXer - aka Chucky
Sean, I'm assuming by the post you're ok. Wild is right.

Holy CRAP Milo!
WBL BMXer - aka Chucky
Jay,

Am I reading this right? You are considering racing this weekend at St. Michael. So am I.

I will do the race for life on Saturday. Hope to see you there.

PS - Took my 10 year old nephew fishing on Mille Lacs yesterday. I've got a few fish stories for you if you make.
Heir Vendt
I doubt that I will race. I tried riding last night and my elbo just isn't there yet.
Rydjors Dark Sider Black Sheep 1%'r
i was just trying for an authentic "smoked chrome" finish on my Diamond Back...note to self...actual smoke is not a true way to achieve smoke chrome.
Paul Springer
Jeez Sean, I hope everything is okay. Sounds by your sense of humor that it is. Be safe man!

Crack kills

Those Meth labs can be dangerous Millo..It must have been a good batch!!

You're O.K.? Cool!!

Hi guys,

Here's the deal....
I asked the boss for the time off for the Minn. national & he said my co-worker already has that time called for! Yeah, I'm ****ed. The first 2 weeks of August is called for for vacation time in my company so I have to shift my vacation up or down.
I plan on going to Reno Labor Day weekend so I want to go into July.
I see that St. Cloud has a earned double & a SCR on July 28 & 29th. Do you guys follow that stuff & do most of you plan of attending?
If so, I'll re-book for that weekend.

Let me know, thanks!

Bruce

here's some more juicy pics of the "zone" thank goodness all mu useless piles of BMX junk are unscathed. I was sooo looking forward to finding melted piles of aluminum where once Shimano cranks layed!

Heir Vendt
Sean - Dang! Sorry to see that. Glad no one got hurt. Your insurance is going to cover that, right?

Old school/new - Very cool at St. Michaels today. MC, always a pleasure to see you. Pete, Rod, Scott, Mikko, others...(my bad, sorry) great fun!

We flew the Missing in action/hang nail formation for you Apold...hehe (love pokin at him... he's good peeps. )

St. M's Track owners? Sorry for riding without a helmet and wearing shorts. Its that 80's in me...OP cord shorts with Vans and a T. I'll bring a helmet next time, and long pants, and sign the waiver form...and the other forms...dang lawyers. Thanks again. Cool meeting you. Long, but very cool track!

ok the racing - Paul won today. Congrats Paul! Scott is a close 2nd. Great job guys!!
Here's my bystanders take. Springer has these extensions on his bars. I swear it's Very "Miland" at that gate. elbow wacking all the way to the first turn. Try that with me in a couple weeks big-boy...yeah...I'll show you some elbos..hahahahahahahaha

It's alot of fun. Tomorrow should even be better with a larger turn out for the State Race. Go..show up...cheer...race...MC I'm sure will have more good stuff.
WBL BMXer - aka Chucky
Okay, we need a little BMX racing to divert ourselves from Sean's 'Honey I almost burnt down the house' photos. That's looks nasty.

Today was one of my best days at a BMX track. I started racing again and had an absolute blast out there. What made it so special was that my daughter was totally into it, not to mention the usual OS faction members that came out to play.

Here are some photos my daughter took:

Practice with Pauli & Rod (Snakebite)

Springer and I in turn two of the Main

Pauli was pretty fast out there on his home track. Great job on first place today.

The usual suspects -

BRUCE (bnd) - A message from your friend Russ....

P.S. Please ignore Mikko's flash card writing ability..

Russ great to finally meet you!

Bruce your right, he's a big bastaaard!

Also, Bruce that weekend you are talking about coming to Minnesota would be great timing, becuase I think that is part of the Old School series. If not we will make sure to get there to give you the Minnesota Old Schooler greeting! (but you aren't going to want Mikko's way of greeting. He does some stupid hand shake and a pat on the hiney kinda thing, it's actually kinda creepy the more I think about it)
Guest200901
Was a fun day! Pete, Wendt, Scott, Rod, Russ, Spring, and el krackko, it was great having you come and hang out, even if it was a poor race turnout, it was still worth seeing everybody!

I'll be back with pics after while
Guest200901
A few pics from today...

Springloaded Hauling Nacho's off the start!

El Stinkko FINALLY wear a REAL BMX shirt (not one of those knock offs)

This Pete, whom is now being (S)trained in on "How To Be a MN-Faction employee" you know... Pete, get me a water...Pete, scrape the gravy off my chair...Pete, can you please hurry up and finish loading the dammmmnnn car...

That's ok Pete, feel free to come over to the more relaxed side of the sport anytime >>> www.minnesotabmx.com

Checkout Scott's style here.... I am thinking his other competion may want to get back on a training schedule, or drop his Chipotle sponsorship..

OMG.............

Russ called me later & sounded like a giddy little schoolgirl. He is pumped (can't you tell?) that you guys are sooo cool & welcomed him into your circle. He is excited to get back on the track & hopefully he can become a made man in your crew. He loves BMX but just hasn't been in the right area to enjoy it with others his age. Hopefully this will get him to start racing & travelling around your fine state, hitting up your OS series.

Thanks again guys, you made his day & mine!

Oh yeah, I will be coming up a week before your national instead.

This is a pic from 10 years ago when Russ came out to visit me during the 97' Salt Lake national.
Ask him how he earned the "Knucklehead of the year award"
