WOW! What a great weekend of racing in St. Cloud this weekend! They pulled 30+ motos both days!

Bill Nelson and his kids were kicking some butt this weekend!

Bill

Ben Nelson

Teddy Nelson

My boy (Rainier) is diggin the cruiser class! He's riding the old man's bike until his 20 and 24 are done

This kid was the highlight of the weekend! Him and his mom show up, never had raced, He had a heck of a time making it up the jumps, got last, and kept a smile on his face for 2 days in a row!

Alise Post was there all weekend, she is a true professional! She's not cocky, pollite, VERY helpful with all the kids, and she gave the boys a run for their money in the Pro/Am Class!

I suppose he had to dust the old man's bike off too. That bike looks like a 20/.

Looking good there Nelson crew

Mark I cant believe how much Rainier looks like you in the 24" FMF pic. I wish I could be racing with you all but my right knee ever since the last time I was at the barn is getting funny again. I intended to be as cool as Justin Miller and lose 40 pounds(you go boy!) this winter but of course gained 5 instead. So, until I clean up my physical act I have no bizness straining my body on the track just so I can strike fear into people on clips. Hope everyone has a great season and I always check this site as much as I ever did.

Mildew! Where in the hellll you been? Jeez, your starting to get like Brad...Glad to see you postin!

You don't have to race, just show up and hang out like I do. I'm just there for the free donuts.

Call me sometime and quit being a stranger.
B. Apold
Sean, be smart. If your not comfortable about racing then don't. Most guys I know have come back and got hurt in one shape or form. Listen to the bod.

MC, I'd post more, but I think were drying up.

Hi fellas,

Well it looks like I'll be going to your neck of the woods for your national weekend.
I asked Russ if I came to race would he saddle back up & race too, he said yes.
I sent him a set of 24 wheels last week he should be getting soon. I told him to practice as much as possible before the national so he doesn't pull a Rock 05' & jack himself all up. He said he would.

I'm planning on flying in first thing Thursday morning & leaving Sunday afternoon so we will be racing the prerace & Saturdays nat, 41-45 cruiser. I wonder if they will have practice Thursday night?
Anyways, I checked out the video footage of St. Cloud & it looks like a pretty straight forward track, nothing too scary.
When Russ gets his cruiser put together & decides to go out, say hi to the big guy that is either riding a Schwinn Pro Mod or a midschool Yellow ACE Holeshot. Better yet, feel free to invite him out for gates......bigboodedady@webtv.net

When you get a chance, check out our scene at www.utahbmx.com

Thanks!
Bruce

Great to hear Bruce!!!

You might want to checkout the St. Cloud web site and contact Mark Post about other practice days. Here>>> http://www.pineviewparkbmx.com/

I have checked out the Utah site before, seems like you guys are doing great!

See you in August!
Paul Springer
Welcome Bruce, I look forward to seeing out here in Minnesota. Your Utah site rocks, that 36+ Expert expert video is OS bigtime. See you in August brutha

Hey Brad, it's not drying up. Some of us are busy practicing. (Not the best picture - Where's Conley when you need him?)

Yes, that's me working out the fear of jumping. I keep thinking "Don't crash, don't crash".

I've have the local kids building some fun riding spots. We will have to do a south metro ride after Rockford. There's a good mixture of paved, trail, and dirt jumping.
WBL BMXer - aka Chucky
Bruce, I hope to be in race trim for that national too. If all goes well in June & July, I'll be there racing. If not, I'll be coaching Springer to the title.
Paul Springer
Saweet Scotty, very cool pic! Are you still thinking about going to Fergus Falls race weekend? It would be fun if your thinking about it, we are camping up there and its going to be AWESOME!

Keep the pictures coming...
Jeff Manning
Wow- I think the 41-45 cruiser might have semi's at the Land "O" Lakes National.

You have people coming out of state, out of retirement, out of the wood work. I know my Cousin will race that one and if I practice and get in 1/2 way shape, I'll even line up on the gate.

I got BMXBABE as my Sponsor..Pink crotchless leathers..Woo-Hoo
B. Apold
Where is your helmet WBL?? shame!

I'm glad your practicing, cuz I haven't riden my 24" since March at Rehbein's.... I did stick on some new bars though..
WBL BMXer - aka Chucky
Brad, I know what you're saying about the helmet. Thanks Mom! Just kidding.

Brad, are you going to make the ride on Saturday?

WBL, I can't make it... Gotta under carriage appointment..

Wish I could go. I wanna ride my FMF.

WBL, you running the St. C national this year? I bet the 41-45 will be a big hit this year. I think the 35-40 is getting harder on the national level because of the young bucks turning 35.... ouch!!! That would be my class. I still intend on racing the national. I have 2 months to train.

Sean,
Do we need to start calling you Decker Fat Sean? I may have lost 40 pounds, but I am no where near the shape I need to be in for BMX. I am going to hit it pretty hard in the next few weeks and try my luck at the race on June 27 in Mankato. You do not have to be a ABA member for that race. See if i want to actually do this. It is going to be ameature night anyway so what the heck.
I just bought myself some leathers, a jersey, and a helmet from Dennis Kirk all on clearance. I am ready to roll except for pads and a nut cup.
Last weekend Blake and I went to the track for a little bit. I am getting a little more daring. I hit the second hill pretty hard, got some big air, and landed hard. I bent my handlebars, and my seat loosened up. I bent the bars back, but they will bend again unless I replace them. Since I am now breaking stuff, it means I am getting closer to being ready. I just need to stop running out of gas the 1st 1/2 of the track. Good thing the new track is shorter!
The best part about the race on the 27th, is that I turn 30 on the 28th. The last day of my 20's and I will probably kill myself before turn one!
WBL BMXer - aka Chucky
Brad, sorry to hear you're not going to make it Saturday.

As far as the National, I just found out Saturday is no good, but I would like to make it Sunday. I'm working on changing my birth certificate so I don't have to race in that 35-40 class.

I'm still one of those young punks that hasn't turned 40 yet. The way I figure it, racing the young guys will only make me better, right?
B. Apold
If your 40 you still race the young punks... Its 35-40 24" class.. I'm 40 so I feel the pain.

Justin, I don't think you need pads anymore. I look at the ABA magazine at the national pics and there allot of kids without them now... They really don't do much..

Jeff, I have also sent along the "bmxbabe" thong to wear with it.

Anyone else want a sponsor?
B. Apold
I need a sponsor. Bill's not in the same class as me for now.
bmxbabe
but brad, you are going to have to wear the uniform then

What a great weekend ! Very fast track down hill first straight made for some good racing. Good weather. Good people = FUN
Paul Springer
I second what Mo said, an absolute blast and a wicked fast track! Even though the racing was great it is the people that make it the most enjoyable. Thanks for all the fun my brutha's...

I hope Bill isn't mad at me for beating him in the triple points main today, lol... Darn clip pedals
bmxbabe
I'm waiting to see pictures- hopefully Conley will get some up soon!
B. Apold
What? elevation changes on a NS track? I better sit down.

Pics and video are coming. Over 1000 photos to go thru and an hour of video to edit. Gonna be a little while. Photos should be up in a couple hours.

Gotta get lunch in there, since for some reason, I now wake up and have to plan my eating times and places out for the day....
Paul Springer
